Australia are out to win their fourth straight Test of the summer having already rolled over Pakistan and beaten the West Indies in the series opener.

West Indies need a major improvement with the bat to be vaguely competitive. The West Indies have three famous wins at the Gabba ground in Brisbane but they haven’t come out on top here since 1988. Australia have won nine of their last ten matches at the Gabba.

To Win Match
Australia 1/8 | Draw 13/2 | West Indies 28/1

Travis Head brings superb form into this match after being the only batter to ton up in Adelaide.

Usman Khawaja has also been hot this summer and has led the Australian effort from the top.

Steve Smith’s move to the top of the order didn’t immediately bear fruit for Australia but they will likely give him another go in Brisbane.

Pat Cummins has been the standout bowler for Australia across the summer and will be a handful with the pink ball in his mitts.

While the West Indies were easily overwhelmed by Australia in the series opener they were able to scratch together some positives.

Shamar Joseph made an incredible debut joining the ranks of bowlers to take a wicket with their first ball and also having a good outing with the bat.

Kirk McKenzie was the only Windies batter who was able to reach a fifty and he made a start in both innings but suffered from a lack of support from his teammates.

The West Indies have a young team which lacks experience and have to face Australia in a pink ball Test which is a challenge that few can rise to overcome.

Verdict: Australia 1/8

Australia should win this and the match almost certainly won’t go close to five days.
