Both franchises were made to endure two-year absences from the competition following a match-fixing storm in which officials from the two clubs pass on information to illegal bookmakers.
Of course, their return means that the Gujarat Lions and the Rising Pune Supergiant – who temporarily filled the void – now fall away.
