Rain thwarts Dolphins once again

Kingsmead Rained Out Again - Durban - Cricket Stadium - Rain

For the fifth time in eight matches in this year’s RAM SLAM T20 competition the  Hollywoodbets Dolphins were denied by bad weather, as their match against the bizhub Highveld Lions was called off without a ball being bowled.

With rain buffeting Durban all week, the relentless weather meant the covers never came off at the Sahara Stadium Kingsmead on Wednesday, and the umpires called off the fixture shortly after 6pm.

The no-result and the shared two points apiece moved both the Dolphins and the Lions into joint second place on the RAM SLAM log with the WSB Cape Cobras, while the Kimberley fixture between the Cobras and the VKB Knights was being played.

The Dolphins head for Bloemfontein on Friday for a clash with the Knights that has become increasingly important as the mid-table congestion has left five of the six franchises clustered within a handful of points of one another, while the rampant Multiply Titans top the log after an unbeaten streak of six wins and two no-results.

The Dolphins then head home after their Friday clash at the Mangaung Oval to entertain their hometown fans in a make-or-break showdown with the table topping Titans on Sunday afternoon.
