Rain thwarts Dolphins opening RAM SLAM home game

A disappointing end to what would have been an absolute treat of a game as the rain fell in Durban.

Durban – The crowd came out in their numbers to Sahara Stadium Kingsmead to watch the rain fall and, unfortunately, not a ball was bowled in the RAM SLAM T20 Challenge fixture between the Hollywoodbets Dolphins and the VKB Knights on Friday evening.

Close to 6000 patrons flocked to Kingsmead for the home side’s opening home fixture of their T20 season, however rain that was not predicted spoiled the party for all involved as the players could not bowl a delivery.

Both teams will take home two points which will see the Dolphins move to six points from their two games and they sit in second place on the log.

A positive for the Dolphins was the return of Imran Tahir to the squad for the encounter. The world-class leg spinner was a doubt throughout the week but will be available for the Dolphins when they travel to the Highveld over the weekend.

The Hollywoodbets Dolphins take on the bizhub Highveld Lions at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom on Sunday before they return home to take on the Warriors on Wednesday at Sahara Stadium Kingsmead.
