The fourth and final day of the contest was shaping up to be an interesting one with all three results on the table, however not a ball was bowled as rain once again had the final say.

This is the second match that the Dolphins lost the final day to the elements and they will head into their week off with two draws on their record.

Heading into the final day the home side had the advantage of being 126 for one and leading by 117 runs.

Daryn Dupavillon picked up the first wicket for the Dolphins to go with the four wickets that he took in the first innings of the match. Kerwin Mungroo also contributed with the ball taking four wickets in the first innings too.

With the bat, it was Sarel Erwee who stood out with an impressive 169 to help the Dolphins past the Titans first innings score.

Jason Smith continued his good form since joining the Dolphins when he scored 59 while another newcomer to the side Bryce Parsons also contributed positively with 78 in the first innings.

Dolphins coach Imraan Khan knows that there are areas that the side needs to improve on despite another rained-out conclusion.

“Look, obviously the rain is frustrating but in terms of the game I don’t think that we were at our best with the ball,” Khan said. “We didn’t execute the plans that we wanted to execute but I do think that we showed great fight with the bat.

“When you concede 400 with the ball and then go in and make 400 with the bat was a great effort.

“I think from a bowling perspective it was just an execution thing but it was just one of those games where we just didn’t get it right.

“It’s ok though, it does happen and we just have to go back to the drawing board next week and put in a strong performance in our next game.”

Despite the two draws the Dolphins have managed to pick up maximum bowling points from both of their matches as well as picking up crucial batting points.

The Dolphins will have a week off before they play their third match of the campaign against the Itec Knights starting on 17 November at Hollywoodbets Kingsmead Stadium.
