Erwee’s knock of 163 was paramount in the Dolphins finishing their innings on 433 all out, finishing their innings nine runs ahead of the Titans first innings score.
In the end Erwee finished his epic innings with 21 fours and 370 balls faced while there were a number of contributions throughout the innings.

“It was one of my better hundreds for sure because I didn’t get them any chances before I got to 100,” Erwee said. “I have battled in the pre-season to get into good positions so to play a knock like this was really satisfying for me and I’m glad to be getting back into the swing of things.”

Bryce Parsons continued his good start to his red ball career with the Dolphins making 78 while Keegan Petersen made 41 and then Jason Smith’s life at the Dolphins also continued impressively when he made 59.

The Titans once again started well with the bat as openers Neil Brand and Grant Mokoena put on 125 for the first wicket before Daryn Dupavillon took the first wicket, Mokoena was caught for 58.

In the end the hosts went to stumps on 126 for one with Brand not out on 58 and with him at the crease is Theunis de Bruyn.

It’s going to be a big day for the Dolphins on the final day of the clash and Erwee wants the side to push for a positive result.

“We probably haven’t executed as well as we would have liked with the ball but on Monday we just need to make sure we dry up the runs and have something that we can chase in the afternoon.

“The wicket probably will come into play in the afternoon so it’s going to be important that we try and restrict them as much as possible,” he added.

Monday’s fourth and final day is set up to be an exciting one with both sides chasing their first wins of the 4-Day Domestic Series.
