Durban Super Giants – Jason Holder

The West Indies all-rounder can bat almost anywhere and in any situation and is also a frontline fast bowler.

Holder has experience beyond his years having carried much of the West Indies’ efforts (across formats) as their long-suffering skipper.

He shows the value of getting a world-class allarounder in your group.

Joburg Super Kings – Maheesh Theekshana

Sri Lanka mystery spinner Maheesh Theekshana could be one of the surprise packages of the tournament.

It will take some adapting for his to get used to the wickets in South Africa.

However if he can adapt he could be deadly for the Joburg Super Kings.

MI Cape Town – Rashid Khan

Is your T20 league even a T20 League if Rashid Khan hasn’t turned up and made himself known as a star.

Rashid Khan is an all-track leg-spinner and dangerous lower-order batter.

On his day he can be unplayable and limits scoring in a big way across his four overs.

Paarl Royals – Jos Buttler

The Paarl Royals have perhaps the best T20 batter in the world right now on their books in Jos Buttler.

How much he is involved remains to be seen but he could just treat us to a series of vintage Buttler knocks.

Having done well in South Africa as an international, Buttler should be a star in this league.

Pretoria Capitals – Adil Rashid

Another quality leg-spinner who can turn matches, Adil Rashid has almost become a forgotten man but his talents really haven’t waned.

Rashid will be a consistent wicket threat and a difficult bowler to get after.

Another Englishman in the overseas corp he will have a few compatriots for company.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape – Tom Abell

One of the sensations of the hundred Tom Abell cannot break into the England set up right now.

That is more a testament to the strength of the Three Lions though as the Somerset skipper proves time and again that he can win white-ball matches.

The Sunrisers have picked a few young English players, a choice that might actually prove wise in the seasons to come.
