Lesotho and Zimbabwe will square off on Wednesday evening for a spot in the Cosafa Castle Cup Final. Lesotho scraped their way to the semi-finals by defeating Namibia on penalties after a goalless 120 minutes. Zimbabwe have produced some sparkling performances in this year’s tournament, topping their play-off group and brushing Swaziland aside in the quarterfinals.
Zimbabwe are playing the best football I’ve seen them play in ages. Their record in this year’s tournament has been stunning. Lesotho come into this match with little less momentum, having played one game so far which needed a penalty shootout to decide the winner.

Lesotho needed a penalty shootout to progress to this stage. They are among the top six ranked teams so they didn’t have to play off for a place in the last eight. Lesotho come into this game with little recent competitive action. They beat Namibia 5-4 after a goalless two hours of football.
The only motivating factor for them is the fact that they have nothing to lose and they come into this game as the underdogs, therefore, there’s little pressure on them.
Zimbabwe
Zimbabwe have to go through the playoffs. The Warriors haven’t lost any of their four games. They’ve won three and drawn one, scoring 12 goals in the process.
This team is like a well-oiled machine, having played more competitive games that their opponents. Their striker, Ovidy Karuru is currently the tournament’s leading goalscorer. He has found the back of the net on six occasions.
Alongside South Africa and Zambia, Zimbabwe have won the Cosafa Cup a record four times.
