He finished just three parts of a length in front of CHESTNUT TROOP that day but is 1kg better off with the latter and more importantly, will be fitter. This pairing are drawn best of all and should dominate proceedings with their top jockeys engaged.
Race 5: KINGOFMOUNTAIN(2)
KINGOFMOUNTAIN has an impressive c & d record and he meets GROOVY NEWS on 4.5kgs better terms for a two-length defeat suffered just three weeks ago. The veteran gelding is a huge contender at this lower level.
Race 9: SOLID AS A ROCK(8)
SOLID AS A ROCK got back to his best form when going down narrowly to FIRST SIGN over this c & d three weeks ago. That performance came at a cost of a four-pound penalty but the top selection is still 1.5kgs better off with his conqueror and should reverse the neck defeat. The pair skipped nearly five lengths clear of the next placed entrant that day and should handle today’s slight rise in class. How- ever, they have to overcome awkward barrier positions this time around.

Race 8: PIGEON FLYER(6)
PIGEON FLYER is in good form and he was just unable to withstand the powerful finish of WESTERN FORCE (0.5kg worse off) over six furlongs in a similar feature on this course, four weeks ago. He could have the latter’s measure over the extra furlong today and his better draw makes him a lively candidate in another competitive affair.
