The lightly raced four-year-old chestnut gelding was doing his best work late when finishing 2nd five lengths behind Justash. He will strip fitter today and could have plenty more to offer over the extra 200m. Jockey Randall Simons will give his mount every chance from a favourable draw of two.

OVER ACHIEVER had a poor last run against male rivals but she faces her own sex today and has a decent record over this shorter trip. The bay mare dips in class and she can bounce back to form from her decent barrier position.

Race 4: DODGY DUTCHIE(4)
Jockey: Calvin NGCOBO – Trainer: Phillip SMITH
This is a weak maiden plate with only seven runners carded. The standout entrant is the lightly raced DODGY DUTCHIE from the Phillip Smith yard. This three-year-old bay gelding has shown promise to date and he recorded his career best effort when running on for 2nd over this c & d, three weeks ago. He has further scope for progress and with a few natural pacesetters present, could get the desired solid gallop. The King’s Apostle gelding should take a power of beating.
Race 8: ON THE RIGHT PAT(4)
ON THE RIGHT PATH faced far stronger last time over this c & d, finishing 6th, 5 lengths behind champion sprinter Talktothestars two weeks ago. The 3yr old chestnut gelding reeled off two consecutive wins over this c & d previously. Jockey Gunter Wrogemann was aboard in both wins and the pair could resume winning ways.
Race 3: GREEN REPORT(6)
Jockey: Jarryd PENNY – Trainer: Ducan MCKENZIE
GREEN REPORT was running on steadily over this c & d when finishing 4th, 2.25 lengths behind Elegant Lady three weeks ago. The four-year-old chestnut filly will be cherry-ripe on her third run after a rest and she can go close from a favourable draw.
