This is another very moderate bunch of maidens but the consistent MIESQUE’S SECRET could be rewarded with her first career victory. She has finished runner-up in three of her last four starts, including a penultimate run over this c & d. The bay filly was 2nd best that day but she was in turn exactly five lengths clear of the next placed entrant GREEN REPORT.

DANCINGWITHJACKSON has his hat-trick attempt after he crushed his rivals to win his last c & d outing by nearly seven lengths. That earned him the maximum eight pound penalty but the five-year old could certainly have more to offer in this province. He will need to raise his game in this higher class but may still prove equal to the task at hand.

PRIDE AND JOY has smart recent form in stronger company and she is clearly the one to beat from another top draw. She finished runner-up over this c & d last month and was in turn, just over three lengths clear of the next placed entrant.

Jockey: Muzi YENI – Trainer: Coerie LENSLEY
ROY’S DISPREN made a bright local debut when leading throughout to easily beat his maiden rivals over a mile on this course and he could certainly have a decent future in this province. Of course, he takes on much stronger on his handicap debut today but the Windrush gelding certainly suits his top jockey Muzi Yeni’s riding style and the pair could follow up.

CHESTNUT TROOP is a battling maiden but with consistent recent form and he meets an average field. He seems to prefer an extra furlong but has a midfield draw and should be highly competitive. His stable- mate ELUSIVE FREEDOM is the stable elect and the recently relocated son of Elusive Fort could show good improvement in this province. The former Cape resident showed little in the ‘Mother City’ prior to his improved last run over this distance and that formline has worked out extremely well. The bay colt is drawn best of all and could be the subject of strong market support.
