We preview selected NBA fixtures taking place on the 17th and 18th of January 2019. 

A Lebron-less Lakers take on the Oklahoma City Thunder, The Kings search for an upset and the Chicago Bulls are out for redemption. 


Washington Wizards 3/10 | NY Knicks 43/20

These two Eastern Conference rivals find themselves near the bottom of the log will do battle at the O2 Arena in London.  

The Knicks are in need of a change in fortune after four straight defeats. In fact, their dire run of form has seen them lose 12 of their last 13 matches, Kevin Knox will be the rookie to watch here for the Knicks.  The 19-year-old is averaging 16.2 points a game in January. The Wizards lost in overtime against the Raptors last Sunday and will be eager to get back to winning ways against a very poor Knicks outfit. 
Verdict: Wizards 3/10 

Indiana Pacers 6/10 vs Philadelphia 76ers 23/20

The Pacers will host the 76ers in their second consecutive home game, both teams are on two consecutive victories but the Pacers are third on the Eastern Conference. They know win for will tighten their grip on third in Eastern Conference as they look for a big push for a favourable seeding before the playoffs. The 76ers may fancy their chances, but you’d expect the Pacers amnd their 15-5 home record to come out trumps here. A tough fixture for both but I’m going with the home win. 
Verdict: Pacers 6/10

Charlotte Hornets 6/10 vs Sacramento Kings 12/10

Sacramento will look to upset their hostss when they travel to North Carolina in search of their fourth consecutive win. The Hornets will play their first match at home after five matches on the road – which they won two from five. Both teams squared off on Sunday where the Kings won 104 – 97. We’re likely to see a similar see a similar result, with the Hornets solid away form set to stand them in good stead.
Verdict: Kings 12/10

Denver Nuggets 1/14 vs Chicago Bulls 57/10

The Chicago Bulls are rooted to the base of the Eastern Conference and have lost their last eight games. On the other hand, the Nuggets conceded 51 points in a quarter after a 36 point lashing from the Warriors in a defeat that exposed their defensive frailties. They’ll redeem themselves and capitalize on a struggling Chicago Bulls. 

Verdict: Nuggets: Half Time: 2/9

Oklahoma City Thunder 1/8 vs LA Lakers 17/4

It must be tough to be a Lakers fan at the minute as they prepare to play their 12th consecutive game without LeBron James after he strained his groin during Christmas Day’s match against the Warriors.

Oklahoma have lost four of their last five with two of those losses on their own turf. Expect Lonzo Ball to shine as he gains more confidence, but only if the Lakers defence can contain Russell Westbrook.
Verdict: Thunder 1/8
