The pick of the games has to go to PSG outclassing five-time winners Bayern Munich when David Luis scored in the first two minutes after a sensational run by Neymar set him up for a powerful drive through Ulreich’s legs. Bayern Munich pressed on but tight defence from the PSG back four marshalled by Thiago Silva kept Ancelotti’s team at bay.

The hosts got on the scoresheet after Mbappe held up two defenders before passing to Cavani who buried the ball in the top right corner of the net. Neymar sealed the deal when Mbappe’s skilful run from at the edge of the box found the Brazillian who latched onto the ball after the defender failed to clear. PSG went on to hold on for the clean sheet and sent a commanding statement to the rest of the world.

Chelsea’s late gasp winner courtesy of Michy Batshuayi handed the Blues a much-needed win against Diego Simeone’s Athletico Madrid.

Manchester United continued their four-goal antics after Martial, Romelu Lukaku (2) and Mkhitaryan all netted for the Reds.

Basel beat Benfica for the first time in history after their convincing 5 – 0 drubbing.
