Magic Tips Best Bets

Top Bet
Race 2: LEGEND SEEKER(4)
Jockey: Craig ZACKEY – Trainer: Tyrone ZACKEY

LEGEND SEEKER
found outside betting support when she produced a most intriguing debut over this trip on Turffontein’s inside course, four weeks ago. The daughter of Mogok was badly outpaced in the early stages that day but moved up menacingly before tiring in the latter stages. She has clearly shown decent work back home and would have come on considerably from that effort. The bay filly should make natural improvement.

Race 4: NINE O CLOCK NEW(11)
Jockey: Craig ZACKEY – Trainer: Mike DE KOCK

NINE O CLOCK NEWS
benefitted from the debut experience when she made huge improvement over seven furlongs in yielding conditions, second time out. She ran on well on that occasion and should build on the effort. The daughter of Tiger Ridge is drawn well at gate 3 on this tight circuit and she could be a real threat.

Race 5: ALACA(1)
Jockey: Raymond DANIELSON – Trainer: Roy MAGNER

ALACA
didn’t handle the polytrack at Greyville last time but the gelding certainly did the trick when the son of Trippi cruised to victory over a similar field over this c & d in his penultimate outing. He would have recovered from the journey to KZN and can stake a serious claim back in his home province.

Race 6: TOP SHOT(2)
Jockey: Andrew FORTUNE – Trainer: Gary ALEXANDER

TOP SHOT
is ultra-consistent and he has a solid record over this distance. He fought hard when a close 2nd at a similar level recently and can go one better from his fair draw, with Fortune back aboard the son of A P Arrow.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY:

Race 8: ROYAL HONOUR(5)
Jockey: Randall SIMONS – Trainer: Paul MATCHETT

The three-year-olds are set to shoulder big masses in this final event but they are improving sorts and could be involved in the finish. ROYAL HONOUR clearly benefited from the gelding as he ran on smartly to win his maiden over this trip in yielding conditions, four weeks ago. That earned him a four pound penalty but the son of Archipenko still has good scope for progress and he could be better than rated. He is well drawn on his handicap debut and should be involved in the finish.
