Yankees Clinch Comeback Win to Tie Series 2 – 2

The New York Yankees claimed a 4 – 0 comeback to tie the series 2 – 2 in American League Championship Playoffs.

The Yankees hosted the Houston Astros in Game 4 of the MLB Playoff Series. The Astros entered the game with a 2 – 1 lead.

The Astros were first to hit and in the 6th inning – Yuri Gurriel’s hit in the far left of the field, got the ball rolling, as George Springer, Josh Reddick, and Jose Altuve all scored – as all the bases were full before Gurriel was run out between 2nd and 3rd base. The Astros breaking their 2 run score voodoo from game 1 and 2.

In the 7th inning, former Yankee, Ryan McCann stepped up to hit and Starlin Castro had a momentary slip allowing Marwin Gonzalez to score handing Houston a 4 – 0 lead.

It was the Yankees turn to get some points on the board in the bottom 7th inning and enter the Judge, who smashed his second homer (427 feet) of the playoffs and sparked the Yankee stadium. 4 – 1. Gary Sanchez stepped up to hit one through the right between fielders for Didi Gregorius to score. 4 – 2.

In the 8th – the Astros failed to score – and the Yankees capitalized as Chase Headley made it to third base after a slight slip and the Astros’ fielders threw to 2nd base but his quick turn, sprint, and dive only just landed him safely onto third as Tom Frazier scored.

Judge returned to strike and he crashed one that bounced off the wall as he only just missed out on another homer, that hit tied the game as Jacoby Ellsbury scored and Judge ran to first.

It was all level at 4 all and the Yankees were rallying – Gary Sanchez hit into the right centre of the field for Judge and Gregorius scored to hand the Yankees the lead for the first time in the game – 6 – 4.

In the final top ninth inning, Aroldis Chapman struck out Yuli Gurriel and Alex Bregman to hand the New York Yankees a 9th inning win as they tied the series 2 – 2.

The Yankees made use of their home advantage as they rallied to tie the series just when game 4 looked like it had slipped out of their hands.

Tonight the Yankees or the Astros will have a shot at going up 3 – 2 when they face off in Game 5.

It’s the last match that will be played in the Bronx and the Yankees have to capitalize on their Game 4 comeback victory. The Astros improved their offence as they went up early on in the game but they couldn’t keep the momentum at the latter stages. You can’t write off the Astros on this one but I’m having a go again with the Yankees to win again at 19/20 after my bet came in successful yesterday.
