South Africa’s Men’s Hockey Team gear up for Summer Series

The upcoming Summer Series will be take place in the Western Cape and South African Hockey has unveiled their squad for the series.

The series will see the South African Men’s Hockey team face off against formidable opponents in France, the Netherlands, and India.

All four of the teams have secured their spots at the Paris Olympics so this will serve as preparation for the global event.

It’s been a fair old time since the SA men’s team played a competitive match so they will be looking forward to elevating their game to fine-tune strategies.

Head coach Cheslyn Gie, was full of praise for the selected group and is very much excited ahead of the series.

“We have a talented and dedicated group of players who are eager to take on these challenges. The Summer Series presents an invaluable opportunity for us to test our mettle against top-tier opponents as we gear up for the Olympics,” said coach Cheslyn.

Further details on fixtures will be released on the SA Hockey social media pages as confirmed.

Coach Cheslyn has bolstered the squad by adding experienced players like Ryan Julius, captain Dayaan Cassiem, Dan Bel and Gowan Jones into the mix.

It also allows South Africa to blood newer players like Tumi Ramphele and Luthando Jonas who will be looking to cement a place in the side.
