Race 5.

Two fillies and a 5yr old mare could dominate the finish to this race and complete the trifecta, but DAY PERFORMER is taken to lead the field home. She had her consistency rewarded with her maiden win by two lengths last time out over six furlongs. She went from jump to wire that day and from her handy draw three, she could prove good enough to record a quick double here, despite taking on stronger.

SEBRENCO is a 2yr old taking on older horses, but she has only had the three runs to date, winning on debut over five furlongs and then finishing second in her next two outings, the latest over 1100M, 0.8L behind the winner. She was bumped at the 350M mark, so did well to finish as close to the victor as she did. She also attracted plenty of betting support that day and from gate five, she will be hoping to make amends today.

ON HER WORD has shown steady improvement in her last three outings, the latest when second over 1100M, 1.8L adrift of the winner. She hung out over the latter stages of that contest and from gate seven, she should be included in all bets.

Race 6.

With the late scratching of one of his main rivals, the door may have opened for today’s best bet, SNIPER LEGEND to chalk up his second career victory. He is a 2yr old colt taking on older horses and has only had the three runs to date, but he finished second on debut over five furlongs and then went on to win his next start over 1100M. He finished second last time out, again over the 1100M sprint, one and a half lengths behind the winner, so he clearly has some ability. He is drawn the widest of them all, now in gate nine, but he is a speedy sort who should use that early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.

PRINCE INVINCIBLE followed up his penultimate run victory over 1100M with a fifth place finish last time out over the same trip, 4.3L back from the victor, but he came three wide into the home straight that day and the form of that race has been franked. From his kinder draw four, he could emerge as the biggest threat to the top choice.

GIDGEE GUY is seldom far off the action and ended up in third spot last time out over five furlongs, two and a half lengths behind the winner. He has cracked pole position and should be involved in the finish.

Race 7.

The day’s value bet, GO GAZZA hit the front at the 200M mark before going on to win his maiden race last time out over this c&d by 1.8L. He faces stronger here, but the manner in which he forged clear of the field to win that last outing suggests that, from draw four, he may be up to the task at hand.

SILENT AGENDA is drawn one outside the top pick and stayed on well to end up in second place last time out over 1500M, 1.3L back from the winner. He should appreciate the step up in distance to be right up there when they hit the line.

LAKE TAI finished strongly when a head second last time out over seven furlongs suggesting that the extra ground on offer today will be to his liking. He in turn is drawn one outside the latter and should not be easily overlooked in this line-up.

Race 8.

LAKE KASTORIA is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she is two for two, winning first time out over 1100M by 0.8L and then following that up with another victory, this time by just under a half length when stepping up to 1300M. She showed plenty of toe that day, but stayed on well over the latter stages, so the slight increase in distance should not present an issue. She has a wideish draw eight, but she could be too good for the males and go on to complete her hat-trick.

OAKFIELD TARGET has consistent formlines to his name and was bumped at the start before finishing fourth is his latest outing over seven furlongs, just under two lengths back from the winner. He is sure to put his pole position to good use.

BIG SURPRISE on the other hand will have to deal with draw twelve, but he missed out on his hat-trick when finishing second last time out over seven furlongs, 3.3L off the victor. He likes to race up with the speed was only run out of it very late that day and seems likely to enjoy the drop in distance. He faces a wide gate twelve, but should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy.
