Race 5.

TRUMPED UP finished second in his last start over six furlongs, six lengths behind the winner when returning from a 20 week break. He gets the blinkers removed for the first time and if this move has the desired effect, he could be the one to side with here. He jumps from a handy draw four and will have 2kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice to aid his cause. Two 3yr old fillies could chase him home, with the marginal preference going to ANNYIDEA who jumped awkwardly, but then finished strongly to end up in third place when making her debut over six furlongs, just over one length back from the victor. She will have to negotiate a wide draw eleven, but she would have learnt from that first outing and with the natural improvement that can be expected, she could test the top choice. CROATIAN MADAME on the other hand gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. She has posted two solid last runs, just failing by a short-head when second in the latest over 1300M. She attracted plenty of betting support that day and from gate seven, she will be looking to make amends here.

Race 6.

CHEVCONI had to weave through the traffic before finishing sixth in his last outing over 1100M, just under three and a half lengths adrift of the winner. Under the circumstances, he did well to get as close to the winner as he did. He has a cozy draw two and should be given another chance to prove himself in this line-up. KISLINA is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she followed up her penultimate run victory over six furlongs with a second place finish next time out over 1100m, just a half length behind the winner. She was then rested for 21 weeks and moved to a new stable. She returns here for her new yard after having had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing third in the latest. Her wideish gate eight is a slight concern, but if fully settled into her new surroundings, she should be a big runner here. SUMMER GLOW is a 3yr old filly who won her penultimate start over 1100M and then finished fifth next time out when dropping to the five furlong sprint, just over two lengths back from the winner. She did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day and also hung out over the latter stages. She faces a wide draw fourteen, but she should be doing her best work late.

Race 7.

TEMPEL ONE put four and a half lengths between himself and the opposition when victorious in his last start over a mile, despite spreading a shoe and the form of that race has stood up well. He returns from a 24-week rest, but has had three barrier trials, winning the latest to showcase his well-being. He will have to overcome a wide draw ten, but he nevertheless still looks to be the one that they all have to beat. MAGIC ON ICE goes for his hat-trick after two wins over six furlongs, both by a head. He took the lead approaching the turn last time out and the went on to hold off all challengers over the closing stages of the contest. He jumps from gate five, and should keep the top pick honest. BRIGHT RUBICK is a 4yr old filly taking on males and she came the widest into the home straight before ending up in eighth place last time out over seven furlongs, 6.8L adrift of the winner. It should however be noted that no less than five runners out of that race have subsequently come out and won, so that formline looks decent. She is drawn one outside the latter and has her first run since a shorter 20 week break, but has participated in two barrier trials, finishing second in the latest. She should give the boys a good run for their money.

Race 8.

CEASEFIRE is a speedy sort who hit the front entering the straight and then bolted clear of the field to record an emphatic six length victory when making his debut over five furlongs. He could be just about anything and although jumping from a wide draw seventeen, he is made the best bet on the day’s program. STREET POWER has only had the two runs to date, but showed the expected improvement second time out when winning by three lengths over 1100M. He was then rested for 14 week and returns here after winning his only barrier trial and despite a wide draw eleven, he could emerge as the biggest threat to the top pick. SATIN RUBY is a 4yr old filly taking on boys, but she has improved in her last two outings and was making good late progress when finishing fourth last time out over six furlongs, 0.7L back from the winner. The form of that race has been franked and from gate seven, she should be involved in the finish.
