Race 4

The 2yr old’s look like they can dominate the finish to this race and complete the trifecta. RUBINOCCHI is a filly taking on the boys, but she has only had three runs to date winning over five furlongs at the second time of asking. She then had nothing go her way when ending up in eighth place next time out over 1100M, just over eight and a half lengths adrift of the winner. It must however be recorded that she jumped awkwardly and was then bumped shortly after the start that day, before over racing in the early and middle stages and then having to be steadied at the 800M mark. In addition, she then finished wide out in the home straight. Under the circumstance, she did well to finish where she did. She gets gate six, but with better luck in running today, she looks to be the one to side with.

CONGLOMERATE has only had the two runs and showed the expected improvement to win his second start over five furlongs by one length, despite jumping awkwardly. He returns from a 21-week break but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing third in the latest. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate seven, but he should be right up there when they hit the line.

MYSTIC GEM is another filly in the race and she has also only had the two runs, but she did win over 1050M on debut. She then disappointed next time out finishing eighth over 1100M, 8.2L adrift of the victor and was immediately rested for 24 weeks. She was a tad unlucky in that last start as she had to be steadied off the heels of other runners at the 600M and did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight. she returns from a longer 24-week absence but has had two barrier trials, finishing third in the latest. From her handy draw two, she should be included in all bets.

Race 5

As with the previous race, the finish to this contest could also be dominated by the 2yr olds, but the gelding, SILVER THORN is taken to lead them home. He has finished second in his last two outings after returning from a 15-week absence, the latest over five furlongs, just under a length behind the winner. He stayed on well that day from just behind the leaders turning into the home straight and will have 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. From his cosy draw four, he could be the one that they all have to beat.

SACRED STREAM is a filly taking on males, but she finished fourth on debut over five furlongs, just over three lengths back from the winner after having had four barrier trials. She would have learnt further from the experience and should be right up there in the mix.

REGAL POM finished in third spot last time out when having his second outing over 1250M, just over seven lengths adrift of the victor. He was unbalanced shortly after the start that day, but would also have come on further with the run under his belt and should not be lightly dismissed in this line-up.

Race 6

Today’s best bet, BOJACK has only had the two outings, but followed up his win on debut over six furlongs with a fifth-place finish next time out when stepping up to 1350M, 2.8L behind the winner. He jumped awkwardly that day, but recovered well to race into the lead, only to be run out of it close to the wire. The form of that race has stood up well with two runners from that contest subsequently winning. The gelding returns from a 21-week break but did win his only barrier trial to prove his fitness. He has a wideish gate nine but nevertheless may prove difficult to topple here.

SAMMY is drawn one inside the top choice and has his first run since a shorter 15 weeks rest during which time he was gelded. He has however put in two encouraging barrier trials. He had shown solid improvement when finishing third in his last start before the break, just over four and a half lengths back from the winner.

ISALUTE has cracked pole position and won his last outing over 900M by a neck when returning from a 25-week break. He has also won a subsequent barrier trial and will have 3kgs removed from his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice to aid his cause.

Race 7

CHATEAUX PARK finished strongly after only seeing daylight at the 350M to end up in second spot last time out over 1300M, just under a half-length behind the winner. He has gate seven and has his peak run after returning from a 23-week absence and as such, is taken to be the value bet on the day’s program.

TEXCEL had his consistency rewarded with his maiden win last time out over a mile by 2.2L. He took the lead by coming three wide as the field entered the home straight and then bravely held off all the late challengers. He takes on stronger here, but has gate three and may well prove good enough to reel off a quick double.

SIGNIFICANT RULE won his penultimate start over seven furlongs and followed that up with a fourth-place finish next time out over a mile, two lengths back from the victor. He is drawn the widest of them all in gate eleven, but he gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time and if these have the desired effect, he should be a big runner in this field.
