Race 4

SEBAGO has shown solid improvement in his last two runs, the latest when third over 1435M, just under two lengths behind the winner. He was making good late progress that day and with him having his peak outing in this contest and from gate five he is taken to be the best bet on the card. Although RIO DE JANEIRO is recorded as finishing eleventh in his last start over 1300M, he was only 1.7L back from the winner. He was staying on resolutely that day and despite facing draw nine out of ten, he should be doing his best work late. RAPIDITY is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she battled all the way down to the wire when finishing second last time out over six furlongs, one and a half lengths adrift of the winner. She jumps from gate six and should be involved in the finish.

Race 5

HALLIDAY ROAD showed marked improvement to win his latest outing over six furlongs by just over two and a half lengths. He used front-running tactics that day and may prove to be difficult to peg back in the closing stages in this line-up. His gate seven is not a concern as he should use his early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy. GUNZAR disappointed last time out when finishing over ten lengths behind the winner over 1180M and was immediately rested for 30 weeks and also moved stables. He has his first run for his new yard and has had the benefit of two barrier trials, finishing third in the latest. From gate two and on some of his better form, he would be a big runner in this event. SHRUG is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she finished strongly to win her last outing over 1350M by just over three and a half lengths. She is drawn one outside the latter and should be included in all bets.

Race 6

BOOM AND ZOOM is a4yr old filly taking on boys, but she has finished third in her last two starts, the latest when just under a length back over nine furlongs. She was only run out of it late that day and seems likely to enjoy the drop in distance of today’s contest. She faces gate eleven out of twelve, but she should be right up there in the firing line. ROSEIRRO has consistent formlines to his credit and finished second in his latest outing over a mile, just a head back from the winner. He has a far kinder draw three and could emerge as the biggest threat to the top pick. ZOUNIQUE came wide into the home straight before ending up sixth last time out over a mile, four lengths behind the winner. He is drawn one outside the latter and should not be lightly dismissed.

Race 7

SWEET CHEVAL is seldom far off the action and has finished second in his last two starts, the latest over a mile, just over a length behind the winner. He tried to go from jump to wire that day and was only reeled in very late. From his cozy draw two, he is taken to be the value bet on the program. PAHANG also has consistent formlines to his name and finished a head second in his latest outing over seven furlongs. He stayed on well that day and seems likely to turn in another honest performance today, despite having to beat draw eight. DJANGO DREAM is drawn one outside the latter and won his maiden race last time out over 1460M by one length at the third time of asking. He takes on stronger here, but he may well be up to the task at hand.
