Race 4.

With the late scratching of one of his main rivals, the door may have opened for today’s best bet, FOR VALOUR to chalk up his third career victory. He goes for his hat-trick after wins over 1500M and the latest by 0.8L over the mile. He went from jump to wire that day and was certainly not stopping when he hit the line, suggesting that the step up in distance should not be an issue. The gelding jumps from gate seven and could prove difficult to reel in over the closing stages. JESSE JAMES followed up his penultimate run victory over nine furlongs with a third place finish over the same distance last time out, one and a half lengths behind the winner and the form of that race has been franked. He is drawn one inside the top choice and could emerge as his biggest danger. JAZZLAND is in turn drawn one inside the latter and has finished up in second place in his last three outings, the latest over this trip when 1.3L back from the winner. He like to race up with the leaders and will have 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice to aid his cause.

Race 5.

SWEET RUBY had her consistency rewarded with a head win last time out over six furlongs. She finished well that day and given her style of racing and from her wideish draw nine, she is likely to be dropped out of it in the early stages and then start to mow down the frontrunners in the dash down to the wire. BITCOIN BABY was slow away and was then hampered shortly after the start when ending up in third spot last time out over six furlongs, three and a half lengths adrift of the victor when returning from a 21 week rest. She jumps from gate six and will have 3kgs removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming apprentice. TEJORI has cracked pole position and put three and a half lengths between herself and the opposition when winning last time out over 1100M. She went from gun to tape that day, kicking clear of the field at the entrance to the home stretch and should be included in all bets.

Race 6.

LOCH LOMOND had solid form before being a bit disappointing when finishing sixth last time out over 1300M, just under five and a half lengths behind the winner, but it should be noted that he jumped awkwardly and was hampered shortly after the start that day and found himself at the back of the field, but then finished off his race well. In addition, his jockey put up 1kg overweight. Jumping from gate six, he is taken to be the value bet on the day’s program. Although MENSA MISSILE is recorded as finishing ninth in his latest start over seven furlongs, he was just under four lengths back from the winner. He returns from a 25 week rest, but has had the benefit of two barrier trials, winning the latest to showcase his well-being. From his handy draw three, he should be seen as a real threat to the top pick. EXOTIC RUBY is a 6yr old mare taking on the boys, but she is seldom far off the action, having finished fourth in her last run over six furlongs, 1.7L behind the winner when returning from a 14 week spell. She faces a wide gate ten, but nevertheless she should give the males a good run for their money.

Race 7.

I AM LETHAL won his penultimate start over this distance, then finished fourth next time out when stepping up to 1500M, just under two and a half lengths off the winner, notwithstanding coming three wide into the home stretch. He gets gate six and seems likely to enjoy the drop back in distance. RUBAMOS also won his penultimate outing, but in his case over six furlongs and then ended up in sixth place last time out over 1300M, 2.8L back from the winner, but he did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day, only seeing daylight at the 250M mark, but then finishing smartly, leading to the conclusion that he should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. He will have to negotiate draw ten, but he has his peak run after returning from a 19 week break and with better luck in running, he should be right up there in the firing line. SPEED LEGEND jumped awkwardly and came three wide into the home straight before finishing fourth in his latest outing over six furlongs, just over three lengths back from the victor. From a slightly kinder gate seven, he should make his presence felt in this contest.
