Race 7.

A 4yr old filly and a 6yr old mare could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta, but the day’s value bet, COMME BELLA FILLE is taken to lead the field home. She had her consistency rewarded with her third career win by a head last time out over 1900M. She did not get the clearest of passages in the home straight that day and had to be switched at the 280M mark, but finished well to claim victory in the shadow of the post. Her handy draw two will do her no harm. WELSH LEGEND put her disappointing penultimate run completely behind her when finishing fifth last time out over seven furlongs, 2.2L behind the winner when returning from a 17 week break. She jumped awkwardly that day and had to be held up between the 400M and 250M marks and only say daylight at the 150M pole, but finished her race off well. She has won a subsequent barrier trial and whilst drawn wide in gate ten, she should be right up there when they hit the line. JESSE JAMES followed up his penultimate run victory over nine furlongs with a third place finish next time out over the same distance, one and a half lengths back from the winner and the form of that race has been franked. From his kinder draw three, he should keep the top two selections honest.

Race 8.

FRANCESCO GUARDI has posted two solid last efforts, the latest when second over this c&d, just under a half length behind the winner, notwithstanding having to be held up between the 400M and 200M marks and, as such, could be considered an unlucky loser. The gelding has pulled gate four and renews his rivalry with TOO MUCH CAVIAR who finished third in the same race mentioned above, 1.7L behind the victor. The latter tried to go from jump to wire that day and as he meets the top choice on just 1kg better term, he may well have to settle for the same result, although he should finish closer. He does however have his peak run after returning from a 21 week absence, but is drawn the widest of them all in gate eleven. LE VIZIR is seldom too far off the action and although recorded as finishing fifth last time out over 1300M, he was just 2.7L off the winner. Considering that he jumped awkwardly and was hampered shortly after the start, before not getting the clearest of runs in the home straight, that effort was encouraging. He jumps from draw five and should be included in all bets.

Race 9.

The day’s best bet, BIGBOYROY’S last three runs have yielded a third and two second place finishes, the latest over a mile, one and a half lengths adrift of the winner. He had to be held up between the 400M and 300M marks that day, but nevertheless finished off his race powerfully and the form of that contest has been franked. He starts from draw six and could prove difficult to topple in this line-up. KATALIN is drawn one inside the top pick and is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys, but she won her penultimate start over six furlongs and then ended up in fifth place next time out over 1300M, just under six lengths behind the winner. She jumped awkwardly that day, but stayed on well over the latter stages and has her peak run after returning from a 19 week rest. She should give the males a good run for their money. BRUTALITY has cracked pole position and has finished closer to the winner in each of his last three outings, the latest when fourth over 1500M, 3.7L back from the victor. He overraced in the early stages and was hampered at the 600M pole that day, but still managed to make good late progress. He should be involved in the finish here.

Race 10.

QUEEN BELLISSIMO is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she has won two of her last three runs, the latest over six furlongs by one and a half lengths when returning from a 21 week absence. She has only had the six runs to date, recording four wins and one third place finish, so clearly, she has some ability. She is a speedy sort who should put her cozy draw four to good use. MUCH MUCH BETTER burst clear at the 300M mark before putting three lengths between himself and the opposition when winning last time out over 1300M. He gets a wideish gate seven, but on the plus side, he will have 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. AMICHE is a 5yr old mare who has also won two of her last three outings, the latest over 1100M when returning from a 30 week spell. She came three wide into the straight that day, but was stayed on well over the latter stages. She does face a wide gate ten, but she should be doing her best work late.
