Race 4.

ALWAYS PRAYING has finished third in her last two runs since returning from a 17 week rest, the latest over 1350M, 1.3L behind the winner, but she jumped awkwardly that day and hung in over the latter stages of the race. From draw five, she should be right up there when they hit the line. SANTORINI SUN has gate seven and also ran third last time out, but over 1300M, 3.8L back from the victor. She made good late progress from some way off the pace that day and on that effort, she should appreciate the extra ground on offer here. The form of that race has been franked and she has her peak run since returning from a 23 week break. VINTAGE came three wide into the home straight and was then held up for a run before ending up in sixth place last time out over six furlongs, five lengths adrift of the winner, but that was at a stronger center and she should be included in all bets.

Race 5.

The first three selections in this race have all pulled wide draws, but the day’s best bet, ONEHELVASON, who gets gate seventeen, is taken to lead the pack home. He has finished second in his first two outings and raced just behind the leaders before kicking clear at the 100M mark, only to be collared in the shadow of the post to be denied victory by a head last time out over 1100M. He should use that early gate speed to move across without expending too much energy and will be hoping to go one better today. HUNDRED PROOF also raced just behind the leaders before ending up in seventh place in his latest outing over 1350M, six lengths off the winner. He is drawn one inside the top choice, but will get the services of ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham, so will get all the necessary assistance from the saddle. In addition, he has the blinkers removed for the first time and if this move has the desired effect, he could emerge as the biggest threat to the top pick. BENMING showed plenty of toe before finishing seventh last time out over six furlongs, seven lengths behind the winner, but gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time and if these help him keep his mind on the job at hand and from a slightly better gate eleven, the gelding should be involved in the finish.

Race 6.

There are seven unraced runners in the field, so as is always the case in these types of races, a keen eye should be kept on the betting markets to get some indication as to whether any of the connection believe that they can win first time out. Any betting support for a runner or runners should be respected. Of the raced runners FENTON may prove to be the best. He is seldom far off the action and was slow away and raced three wide before staying on well to finish third last time out over 1100M, just a neck behind the victor. He has his peak run after returning from a 28 week absence and whilst drawn wideish in gate nine, he should give a good account of himself in this line-up. NAY TO REMEMBER is drawn one outside the former and jumped awkwardly and was then hampered shortly after the start when finishing fifth last time out over 1100M, 3.8L back from the winner, but the form of that race has been franked. YASAMINE is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys, but she was slow away and had to be steadied off the heels of other runners shortly after the start before finishing sixth on debut over 1300M, 3.4L behind the winner. She did not get the clearest of passages in the home stretch that day, only seeing daylight at the 300M mark. No doubt she would have come on with that experience and from a cozy gate two, she could provide Keagan Latham with his second winner on the day.

Race 7.

A 3yr old and a 4yr old filly could fight out the finish to this race and complete the exacta, but the day’s value bet, MISS LENORR is taken to end up in the winner’s box. She won her maiden race last time out over six furlongs, albeit by just a short-head, at the third time of asking, battling all the way down to the wire. From a wideish gate nine, she could prove good enough to complete a quick double. IN DE SUN IWILCOME is drawn one inside the top selection and has finished second in her last two outings, the latest over five furlongs, just a half length back from the winner. She hit the front at the 200M mark and was only run out of it very late. She will be hoping to go one better today. RUPERTSON won over five furlongs on debut and then stayed on well to finish fourth next time out over the same sprint distance, just under two and a half lengths behind the winner. The form of that race has been franked and whist drawn wide in gate fourteen, he gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time and this move could well do the trick.
