Race 4

HAVIN’ FUN is
seldom far off the action and had nothing gp her way when finishing sixth last
time out over seven furlongs, two lengths behind the winner. She spread a shoe
at the start and then overraced in the middle stages, but still managed to get
as close to the victor as she did. She jumps from gate four and will have 3kgs
taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice to aid her cause. CONSTANZIA will
have a slightly less 2kgs removed from her back courtesy of her claiming appie
and will start from draw seven. She followed up her penultimate run victory
over six furlongs with a sixth-place finish next time out over 1300M, 5.3L back
from the winner, but she took a heavy bump at the 200M mark in that race, so that
effort is best ignored. MARGIE BEE is drawn one inside the
latter and also won her penultimate start, in her case, over a mile and then
finished sixth next time out over the same distance, just over four lengths
behind the winner. She jumped awkwardly and then attempted to make every post a
winning post that day and is likely to adopt similar tactics here. She could
prove difficult to overhaul over the closing stages as she too will have 3kgs
taken off her back for the services of her claiming apprentice.

Race 5
MUBARIZ overraced
in the early and middle stages of his last race and then turned as the leader
into the home straight before striding away from the opposition to win by two
and a half lengths over this c&d. He will have to negotiate gate eleven out
of twelve, but on that last performance, he could prove good enough to complete
his double today. ALL THINGS has consistent formlines to his credit and
drops in distance after two runs over nine furlongs, the latest when just over
two and a half lengths adrift of the winner. He took a bump entering the home
straight and then battled to get a clear run in the dash down to the wire, so
that effort was encouraging. He is drawn one inside the top choice in gate ten,
but will get ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham in the irons, so will get all the
necessary assistance from the saddle.
WAIRERE FALLSon the other hand has cracked
pole position and is the stable companion to the top pick. He came four-wide
into the straight before ending up in third place last time out over 1500M,
4.4L behind the winner. He looks a lively back-up for the yard.

Race 6

AWESOME LAD is
going for his hat-trick having won his last two starts over 1300M. He made good
late progress to win his last start in the shadow of the post by a head,
suggesting that the extra ground on offer here will be to his liking. He has
his peak run today after returning from a 21 week break and despite being drawn
the widest of them in gate thirteen, he is taken to be the best bet on the
day’s card. OBELOS won his penultimate start over this trip and
then finished fourth next time out over a mile, just under two lengths adrift
of the winner. He drops back to what appears to be a more suitable journey and
could emerge as the biggest danger to the top selection. BRAVIO has finished
third in his last three outings since returning from a 21 week absence, the
latest over 1300M, just a neck behind the winner. He has a far kinder draw two
and will have 3kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. he
should be involved in the finish.

Race 7

With the two late
scratchings, the task on hand for today’s value bet VRENELI has been made that
much easier and he could well notch up his second career victory. He has only
had the two runs to date, winning by nearly three lengths on debut over 1100M
and then finishing fifth, 3.6L back from the winner next time out when stepping
up to 1300M. He jumped awkwardly that day, but from a handy gate three here, he
could quickly get back to winning ways.
MISS SURE SHOTis a 4yr old filly taking on
the boys, but she has her hat-trick run here after winning her last two starts
over this distance, the latest by half a length when returning from a 25 week
break. She will have to overcome a wide draw nine, but on the plus side, she
will get 3kgs removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming
apprentice. HE’S A HOTSHOT raced wide in the early stages of the race
and then only saw daylight at the 300M pole before finishing a creditable third
last time out over six furlongs, just over two and a half lengths behind the
winner. He is drawn one inside the latter and should be included in all bets.
