Race 5

Today’s best bet, SILHOUETTE is a 4yr old filly taking on the boys, but she has consistent form lines to her credit, finishing second last time out over a mile, beaten just ahead. She was slow away that day, but finished off her race strongly, suggesting that the step up in distance should be to her liking. She jumps from gate seven and could prove to be difficult to topple.

ZUDIN has no stamina doubts having finished second over this trip last time out, a length back from the winner, this despite coming five wide into the home straight. The form of that race has been franked and whilst facing a wide draw ten, he could be the biggest danger to the top choice.

EMERALD BAY is a 3yr old filly who won her penultimate run over seven furlongs and then finished fourth next time out over 1500M, just under a length and a half back from the victor. She had to be eased off the heels of other runners at the 1400M mark that day and then came three-wide into the straight, so should have finished closer to the winner as a result. From her pole position, she should be involved in the finish.

Race 6

SPROUT WINGS is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she is seldom far off the action and although recorded as finishing sixth last time out over seven furlongs, she was just over two lengths adrift of the winner. She did not get the clearest of passages in the home stretch in that contest and from her handy draw five, she should give the boys a good run for their money and as such, is taken to be the value bet on the day’s program.

TINKA’S LAD tried to go from jump to wire in his latest outing over a mile before ending up in fourth place, two and a half lengths behind the winner. He did hang out over the closing stages that day and gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, he should threaten the top pick.

CAMP RIFLE kicked clear of his field as they entered the home straight, before going on to win by just under a half-length last time out over 1300M. He is drawn one outside the latter and should be right up there when they hit the line.

Race 7

RUSSBUSS is a 4yr filly taking on boys, but she had plenty of excuses when missing out on her hat-trick last time out, finishing fourteenth over 1100M, 12.3L behind the winner and was immediately rested for 19 weeks. She was severely hampered at the 900M pole and then had to be steadied at the 700M mark, so that effort is best ignored. She returns here after winning her only barrier trail and from a cosy draw four, she will be looking to bouncing back to winning ways.

MARSHALL DILLON won his penultimate start over five furlongs by four and a half lengths and then finished third in his next run over 1100M, 1.2L back from the winner when returning from a 31-week absence. He is a speedy sort who should make good use of his gate two.

CENTRO STORICO is a 3yr old filly who had her consistency rewarded with her maiden victory by one length last time out over five furlongs. She was returning from an 18-week rest that day and although taking on stronger here, she has gate five and could well be up to the task at hand.

Race 8

DOM TYCOON has won two of his last three starts, the latest a short-head victory over 1500M. He finished well to snare the frontrunners in the shadow of the post and on that effort seems likely to appreciate the extra ground on offer today. He jumps from gate five and looks to be the one to side with here.

JESSE JAMES has solid form to his name and won his maiden race last time out over seven furlongs by 2.3L when returning from a lengthy 36-week break. He hit the front at the 250M mark and then fought off the chasing pack in the dash down to the winning post. The form of that race has been franked and notwithstanding having to overcome the widest draw of them all in gate twelve, he should not be lightly dismissed in this line-up.

MISS SCALINI is a 5yr old mare taking on males, but she battled all the way down to the wire to win her last outing over 1500m by one and a half lengths. She has a far kinder draw three and should be included in all bets.
