Race 5

VRENELI has only had the three runs to date, winning two of them, the latest when going from jump to wire to be victorious by one and a half lengths over six furlongs. He clearly has some ability and should still be improving. He jumps from gate five and looks to be the one to side with here. A 4yr old and a 3yr old filly could chase him home. EXOTIC DEEL completed her hat-trick when winning by just over two lengths last time out over a mile, when hitting the front at the 200M mark. She drops in distance, but did win over six furlongs three runs back, so this should not be an issue. She will have to negotiate the widest draw of them in in gate nine, but she should give another honest performance here. NEWSREADER showed marked improvement to win her maiden race by 2.3L in her last outing over six furlongs. She was returning from a short 10 week rest that day and although taking on stronger here, she has a handy draw four and could well be up to the task in hand.

Race 6

The day’s value bet, FOXBOROUGH is a 4yr old filly taking on boys. She is recorded as finishing eighth in her last start over this c&d, 4.4L behind the winner, but she was baulked all the way down the home straight and that effort is best ignored. She won over a mile three starts back and on that form and with better luck in running today, she should be right up there when they hit the line. CASINO MONDIAL jumped awkwardly before ending up in fourth place last time out over seven furlongs, three lengths behind the winner. He also did not get the clearest of passages in the straight and only saw daylight at the 280M mark, so did well to finish as close to the winner as he did. He is drawn in gate six and has his peak outing today. JOIGNY is a 5yr old mare who drops in distance after finishing fifth last time out over 1900M, just over three and a half lengths adrift of the victor. Four winners have emerged from that race and although facing the widest draw of eleven, he should be included in all bets.

Race 7

BORN A WARRIOR strode away from the opposition to win his last start over six furlongs by three and a half lengths and was immediately rested for 15 weeks. He spread a shoe during that outing, which makes the effort that much more encouraging. He returns here after having had a barrier trial to showcase his well-being. He faces a wideish gate nine, but nevertheless he is taken to be the best bet on the program. BUCKIN’ BEAUTY is a 5yr old mare taking on males. She was a bit disappointing when finishing fifth last time out over 1100M, 5.4L back from the winner, but it should be noted that she was hampered at the 200M pole that day and should have finished closer to the winner as a result. She is drawn in gate seven and will get 2kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice to aid her cause. KET LARGO made solid improvement to win his last outing over six furlongs by a length. He ran down the leaders with 150M to go that day and retains the services of ex-SA jockey Keagan Latham. From pole position, he should be involved in the finish.

Race 8

SEDITION followed up his penultimate run victory over this c&d with a third spot finish next time out over the same c&d, just over two lengths back from the winner. He was making good late progress that day and from draw two, he will be looking to bounce back to winning ways today. REVITUP REDNUT is a 6yr old mare taking on boys, but she has cracked pole position and is seldom far off the action, finishing third in her last start over the c&d, slightly under two lengths behind the winner. She was hampered shortly after the start that day and her jockey put up 0.5kgs overweight, so she should have finished closer to the winner that she officially did. ACCELERATO battled all the way down to the wire when ending up in fourth place last time out over six furlongs, 1.8L behind the winner. He has pulled draw four and should not be lightly dismissed in this line-up.
