Race 1: PUMEZA(8)
Race 4: CHINA EXPRESS(3)
Race 6: STATE BALLET(1)
Race 7: RED PERIL(2)
Magic Tips Best Bets
Race 2: MASTER’S SPIRIT(2)
Jockey:  Bernard FAYD’HERBE – Trainer: Justin SNAITH
MASTER’S SPIRIT has rejuvenated his career in the ‘Mother City’ where the six-year old has been particularly effective over this minimum distance. He finished smartly for his second triumph inside three starts recently and the Snaith inmate holds strong claims once more despite the resultant three pound penalty and rise in class. The hot pace will suit him well.

TOP BET
Race 5: SUMMER SKY(5)
Jockey:  MJ BYLEVELD – Trainer: Dean KANNEMEYER

The Kannemeyer trained chestnut gelding SUMMER SKY got his career firmly on track in KZN before making the trip back home for the summer. The well-related son of Trippi could have been given a stronger ride when he was pipped at the final hurdle in an improved comeback run over this distance at Scottsville last time.

Race 6: NANNA ANNA(5)
Jockey: Richard FOURIE- Trainer: Paul REEVES
This is an extremely competitive five furlong dash with many speedsters who could easily harm each other’s chances. NANNA ANNA has mostly exposed three-year old form but she is much better than her recent efforts indicate and this bay filly could be best handicapped. She should have finished closer in a high class field on her track debut recently and the engaging of a top jockey could make all the difference for the daughter of What A Winter toda

Race 7: RED PERIL(2)
Jockey:  Wesley MARWING- Trainer: Billy PRESTAGE
The day’s topliner sees just eight stayers head to post and proven natural pacesetter RED PERIL could again have things all his own way. The veteran chestnut was given a smart ride by today’s jockey when the pair skated clear to beat a listed field comfortably over this c & d last month. He picked up the expected eight pound penalty for his troubles and though he competes against much stronger rivals today, most of them are returning from breaks and their lack of race fitness may hand the initiative to the first selection.

VALUE BET FOR TODAY
Race 4: OH BEHAVE(4)
Jockey:  Aldo DOMEYER – Trainer: Candice BASS-ROBINSON
This is a tricky seven furlong handicap and with just eight entrants heading to post, the lack of pace could be an issue. OH BEHAVE returns from a 21 week absence after fluffing his lines over a mile in the winter but he is at his best over today’s distance and could dictate terms to great effect from the widest draw. He is the mount of the stable jockey.
