PHIL’S POWER has consistent formlines to his name and has recorded two of his seven wins to date over this c&d. He won a good race over a mile last time out and if showing the same determination here, he could be the one that they all have to beat.

Race 5: SHORT SKIRT FLIRT (3)

Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: C Lensley

SHORT SKIRT FLIRT has rattled off three wins from four starts since relocating to Flamingo Park and will be pressing to add to that total today. She tries the nine furlongs on sand for the first time, but there is nothing to suggest that this will be beyond her reach. Her usual pilot, Nathan Klink will be aboard again.

Race 6: REGENT SEVEN (3)
Jockey: J Penny – Trainer: J Rugg

REGENT SEVEN has his second run after a rest. The What A Winter gelding put nine lengths between himself and the second horse in his comeback run over a mile. He had finished second twice in a row over seven furlongs prior to the break and clearly benefitted from the rest. His record over this distance is not encouraging, but he appears to be a better horse now and could complete the double this afternoon.

TAKATUL has cracked pole position and barring one run over seven furlongs, has solid form to his name and will be looking for win number five here.

Race 8: MAMBO LYRIC (4)
Jockey: M Yeni – Trainer: C Lensley

MAMBO LYRIC won on her first outing for her new stable and clearly relished the sand track. That was over seven furlongs and she drops back to the six today. She set the pace in that race and given her wide draw here, she may attempt similar tactics this afternoon. It is encouraging that Muzi Yeni has kept faith in her.
