A high quality field assembles for Gauteng’s biggest race of the season where the fairer sex is really well represented in this extremely competitive contest.
SECRET POTION and CASCAPEDIA fought out a thrilling finish in a recent delayed pinnacle event over a mile where the former emerged victorious and last season’s Oaks winner is sure to relish the step-up to ten furlongs. Of course she was returning from a 19 week absence so will strip fitter.
CASCAPEDIA is the weak current favourite (at the time of writing) and is an exceptional talent who has her peak outing. Her pedigree indicates that she will have no issue with this distance.
The brilliant top weight CORAL FEVER defied the odds once again with a last gasp victory over the improved TILBURY FORT in the Charity Mile recently and though he deservedly concedes chunks of weight all around, the chestnut gelding merits strong consideration.
The latter was returning from a 17 week absence so he will be fitter and is an obvious inclusion.
His stablemate SOCIAL ORDER has arguably had a better prep though and should be finishing his race well.
The filly TAKINGTHEPEACE was an impressive recent winner of the Victory Moon Stakes and she merits respect.
