Magic Tips Best Bets

TOP BET
Race 1: IDEAL DUEL(12)
Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Dennis DRIER

The well-related three-year-old bay filly IDEAL DUEL showed big improvement when she tried this surface second time out. The inmate from the Drier camp ran on strongly to finish just under three lengths adrift over the seven furlongs that evening and her pedigree indicates that she will love every bit of this steep rise in distance. She has obvious scope for improvement and is well drawn at gate 4.

Race 4: NAPOLI(3)
Jockey: Anthony DELPECH – Trainer: Alyson WRIGHT

NAPOLI made an impressive winning debut for his new conditioner when he quickened well over six furlongs on this track last Sunday. The victory earned him a four pound penalty and he takes on stronger now but the bay gelding is even better over this extra furlong. Furthermore, his top jockey has kept faith with the four-year-old despite him racing twice inside five days. The likely sedate gallop should suit him well.

Race 5: DANCE ON AIR(4)
Jockey: Anton MARCUS – Trainer: Charles LAIRD

In stark contrast to the prior event, this contest should be run at a strong pace and that will suit the first selection DANCE ON AIR who is the stable elect from trainer Charles Laird’s trio of runners. Top jockey Marcus jumped off this gelding to ride the victorious stable companion when the son of Kahal no doubt needed his comeback run, three weeks ago.He has many lengths to find on MAIN SUBMISSION and HUMIDOR on that performance but should strip fitter now and will be an entirely different proposi- tion tonight. The top selection holds a really smart c & d record.

Race 7: RIVER AYRE(8)
Jockey: Sean VEALE – Trainer: Alistair GORDON

RIVER AYRE has improved smartly since racing over six furlongs whilst equipped with blinkers. She followed-up her easy c & d maiden win with a cracking handicap debut performance on the grass last month. The daughter of Great Britain finished well for a close 2nd that day and she clearly escaped without further punishment. She has a midfield barrier position and should give another good account of herself.

VALUE BET (EACH WAY) FOR TODAY

Race 8: COP THIS(2)

Jockey: Ian STURGEON – Trainer: Lowan DENYSSCHEN

This is an extremely competitive end to the day’s proceedings and the likely strong pace should ensure an exciting finish. The well-bred daughter of Noordhoek Flyer, COP THIS is lightly raced and she has shown some improvement on this track. She stayed on for 4th over an extra furlong recently and will certainly relish the blistering pace tonight. She is unfortunately drawn wide but should be finishing really well and can cause the upset with her top jockey in the saddle.
