ST PETER’S BAY had an eye-catching comeback run after a lengthy absence and he will strip fitter now. The bay gelding stayed on well for 2nd on the grass in yielding conditions that day and he meets weak- er opposition tonight. He was not striding out in his only start on this track but could be a different proposition from the best draw this time.

Jockey: A MARCUS – Trainer: C S LAIRD
TEAM GUYS is a track specialist who is fast reaching a highly competitive merit rating and he has many things in his favour tonight. The four-year-old showed very encouraging signs of a form return when staying on for 4th in a strong field over this c & d, nine days ago. He was rather surprisingly docked two pounds in his rating and could take full advantage on his peak showing. The inmate from the Charles Laird yard is drawn well at gate 3 and top jockey Marcus takes the ride.

Race 8: DALE HOUSE(5)
DALE HOUSE just found the nine furlongs too far for him but he still finished a fair 3rd recently. The mile suits him perfectly though and he went close to winning in back-to-back c & d efforts prior to that. The son of Kahal has the gate speed to overcome his wide draw and his only career victory was achieved with tonight’s in-form jockey in the saddle.

SONG OF MITU found outside betting support when she showed pace on her fair debut behind a decent type on the grass at Scottsville five weeks ago. The 3rd placed finisher Simply Scrumptious lifted the form with a gutsy subsequent victory and this daughter of Querari would have come on appreciably from the experience. She should prefer this evening’s minimum trip and has definite claims with top jockey Delpech engaged. Of course, the concern is how she will handle the polytrack.
