RACE 1

U W BROTHER is
much better than his moderate last start suggests. He was narrowly beaten under
Moreira in his penultimate run and doesn’t take on the strongest field in this
opening contest. FARM BUMPER is
better than his last start when reported to be lame. Schofield retains the ride
and it will be no surprise to see him find a swift return to form in this type
of field. JOYFUL WIN is still
relatively unexposed and is still learning what racing is all about. With the
natural improvement that is expected, he can run into the money.

RACE 2

BABY STORM has
run two decent races under Moreira. He backed up his favourite status last time
when winning over this c&d and the manner in which he finished off that
race suggests there may be another one in the tank. TREASURE CHEST followed up his recent win with two third-place
finishes. He brings ultra-consistent form into the race and should give another
good account of himself. VIRTUS STAR
is arguably lucky to still be competing in Class 5. He reeled off a hat-trick
at this level towards the end of last year and must be considered.

RACE 3

SMART COUSIN
produced a fair effort last time at Sha Tin racecourse. He performs better on
this track and a repeat of his penultimate effort should see him take a power
of beating. MISTER MONTE faces a
difficult test but shoulders a handy galloping weight. He may adopt to dictate
matters again and can be hard to reel-in. PERFECT
TO PLAY
got cramped at the 600m mark last time. His last win came under
Moreira and with better luck in running, he can finish in the money.

RACE 4

ROYAL BOMB is the
best bet on the card. He was narrowly beaten in his course debut last time out
and was arguably unlucky not to make it back-to-back wins. He would have gained
from the experience and will take a power of beating. WEALTHY DELIGHT hit the front at the 250m mark last time and won in
impressive fashion. If repeating that type of effort then should be able to
pose a threat to the top selection. The South African-bred PARTERRE makes his Hong Kong debut. He finished third in The
Politician Stakes and fourth in the Cape Derby. If fit he should be able to
make his presence felt and is definitely a sort to keep an eye on.

RACE 5

JOLLY GOOD HEART
produced a career best performance last time out under Purton. He moved up like
a winner that day but was caught in the latter stages. SPRINT FORWARD is a natural frontrunner who will benefit from a
3kgs claiming apprentice in the saddle. If allowed to have his own way in
front, he can be difficult to mow down in the dash to the wire. DAILY BEAUTY is much better than his
below par last outing. He finished runner-up in his penultimate run under
Moreira and should find a swift return to form.

RACE 6

GALLANT CROWN
takes on a competitive field but the manner in which he has won his last two
starts suggests the hat-trick is very much on the cards, and he represents
decent each-way value for Hong Kong racing pundits. GLORIOUS LOVER is coming along the right way. He finished runner-up
in his last start under Moreira and it is encouraging that he has kept faith in
the ride. ZHAN JIANG ROCKS likes to
produce his dash from off the pace and if not too far back when turning for
home, he should be right there.

RACE 7

STOCK LEGEND is
in search of a hat-trick of wins. He is drawn wide and will have to shoulder
top weight but should be up to the task at hand. WHISKEY NEAT has been costly to follow for some but he always gives
of his best. He has finished runner-up in his last three outings and is a
“must” for Exacta players. ROMANTIC
TROVE
made eye-catching late progress last time out. He is still lightly
raced and with the expected natural improvement on offer, he can run into the
money.

RACE 8

FLYING GENIUS is
a 1000m specialist. His form is attractive if you ignore his penultimate run
and despite having to shoulder top weight, he should be right there at the
business end. KURPANY followed up
his recent win with a fair effort over this c&d. He gets Moreira in the
saddle, who may be able to coax a little extra out of him where it matters
most. SAUL’S SPECIAL finished third
when teamed up with French ace Piccone for the first time and a repeat of that
effort could see him pose a threat to the top selection.

RACE 9

KA
YING MASTER
hit the front at the 300m mark last time under current champion jockey Purton
and it was race-over. He jumps from an inside barrier and will be looking to
close off the evening. SPARKLING DRAGON
finished runner-up last time over this c&d and will be hoping to go one
better. TORNADO TWIST was clear
second best last but he was staying on strongly on that occasion. A repeat of
that effort should see him run into the money.
