The son of Futura would have come on with the run under his belt and should have plenty of improvement to come. He drops back to maiden company this afternoon and may be a class above the rest of this field.

NIXON has not finished too far off the winner in recent outings. He moved up like a winner in his last start over the seven furlongs on this course, but was caught in the shadow of the post. He does have a wide draw to contend with today, but he has early gate speed and should get across without using up too much energy.

SING OUT LOUD was an impressive winner in her comeback run over a mile on this course. Despite not getting the best of starts, the manner in which she drew off at the finish was encouraging. The daughter of Dynasty should have no issues with the step up in distance and she should have a good chance of following up.
Race 6: HEAVEN’S EMBRACE (9)
Jockey: Cheyne G – Crawford B
HEAVEN’S EMBRACE finished 1.45 lengths behind CRUISE ALONG in her comeback run last time. She is 2.5kgs better off at the weights this afternoon and that should be enough to turn the tables. She also didn’t have much luck that day as she was held up for a run until the 250m mark. From pole position, she may find herself in the winner’s enclosure.

PEANUT BUTTER is a two-year-old taking on older company. She made the necessary improvement in her last start over 1250m at Durbanville. It must be noted that Captain’s Ransom has come out to win a feature race since. The daughter of Philanthropist is bred to enjoy the rise to the mile and should have more to come. It is encouraging that Corne Orffer has kept faith in the ride.
