Race 1
QUESADILLA made good late progress when making her debut over five
furlongs and should enjoy going the extra distance. She would no doubt have
come on with the experience and despite her wide draw, she looks to be the one
that they all have to beat. OSTARA likes to race up with the speed and was not too far behind
the winner last time out over six furlongs. She should enjoy the drop in trip.
PRINCESS DIVA returns from a 21-week rest and has
had just had the two starts to date, both over six furlongs. If not too much in
need of a run, she should be right at home over this trip. UP is drawn
one outside the latter and should show natural improvement second time out.

Race 2
I SHOT THE SHERIFF finished second on debut over
six furlongs. He was friendless in the betting market that day and with the
natural improvement that can be expected, he should be right up there in the
dash down to the line, jumping from his handy draw. MAJOR returns from a lengthy 41 break and gets a
set of blinkers fitted for the first time. If these have the desired effect, he
should be involved in the finish here. YOUNG CLIFFY made a fair debut over five furlongs and should have
improved with the run under his belt. He could enjoy going the extra trip.
ASSETS is a 4yr old filly taking
on the boys, but if she can repeat her penultimate effort over 1100M, she
should give the males a good run for their money.

Race 3
BILLIE DE LUNE is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she has finished close up in
both of her starts to date. She steps up in trip and has a wide draw to
negotiate, but she should be running at the leaders at the business end of
affairs.
ALPHAVILLE is a speedy sort who gets the blinkers removed for today’s run. He
should challenge the former.
CRISIS TIME is another who takes a step up in distance, but it would appear that
this is just what he is looking for.
CHRISTINE’S
LEGACY
is a 6yr old mare who made her belated debut
over 1300M. If taking to the extra distance, she should be considered here.

Race 4
PREIPO is a 3yr
old filly taking on males, but she has solid staying form to her credit and
although taking a big drop in the distance, she remains the one to beat. YULONG
SOLDIER
made a smart debut over 1500M and should have progressed with the
outing. From his handy draw, he should keep the former honest. STRIDENT, on the
other hand, takes a step up in distance, but he has solid form to his name and
should not be lightly dismissed.
PEACE LILY is a 4yr old filly
who showed marked improvement last time out over a mile and if she has
continued down that same path, she should be right up there in the mix.

Race 5
Two fillies could complete the exacta here
with the narrow first pick going to
RIVER MIST who is a 4yr old
filly who finished well to win her last outing over a mile, suggesting that the
extra ground on offer here will be to her liking. RAPTURES is a 3yr old filly who has put in two
solid performances, the latest of which was over the mile. She is sure to enjoy
the step up in distance.
CHESTNUT THUNDER has
wide draw to contend with, but on the plus side, he will get 2kg removed from
his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. JIMMY’S SECRET finished well
over 1500M in his comeback outing after a 17 week break and should be right up
there in the firing line.

Race 6
BELLA followed up her win over this distance three runs back with two encouraging
performances. From her good draw, she looks to be the one to follow here.
KISSEE MEE finished two
lengths back in her last outing over this distance and could be the biggest
danger to the former. OCEAN DRIVE was an easy
winner of her maiden race last time out over this distance and although facing
stronger here, she may just be up to the task on hand. CARAMBOLA’S last two runs over six furlongs have
been solid and the drop down in distance should be to her liking.

Race 7
ENCIRCLE is a 4yr old filly taking on males. She likes to race up with the speed
and was only beaten 0.8L last time out over this trip. She should go close to
winning this contest.
LASSITER’S LODE was rested for 13
weeks after a convincing four and a half length victory over 1100M on debut and
could be almost anything. If not in need of the outing, he would be a big
runner here. PILL BOX has a wide draw to contend with, but gets a set of blinkers fitted for
the first time. If these make him concentrate all the way down to the wire, he
should be involved in the finish.
OLYMPIC LAD improved when close up last time out
over the six furlongs and should be considered in this field.

Race 8
Two mares could put the boys in their
places by finishing in the top two slots here.
JUST STELLAR is a 7yr old mare
who’s last two runs have been encouraging and she has cracked pole position. MAGNESIUM ROSE is a 5yr old mare who was narrowly
beaten last time out over this distance. She will be assisted by having a 2kg
reduction in her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming apprentice. MOUNT MITTY is a speedy sort who seldom finishes
too far off the action. He is drawn one outside the top selection and must be
considered a runner in this event. TOO HARD TO HANDLE is
another who likes too race up with the speed and kept going well to hold off
all challengers to win his last outing over 1100M. He could complete a quick
double here.
Race 9
BAILEYS showed improvement last time out over a mile when
making late progress in the closing stages. He has a wideish draw but is likely
to be picking off the frontrunners in the closing stages of the race. KING KABUTO on the other hand will start from pole
position. He takes a small step up in trip, but that is not seen as an issue. PROTECTION MONEY finished well in his last start
over seven furlongs and seems sure to enjoy going over the extra ground. Given
his style of running, his wide draw may not be too much of a problem. SWEEPING THE BOARD appeared to find the six
furlongs of his last outing on the short side and should enjoy going the extra
trip here. He will have 2kgs taken off his back for the services of his
claiming apprentice.
