PLACE ACCUMULATOR – R216 (Starts RACE 4)

4,7,8/6,5,1/3,7,5/6,4/8,6/4,2/5

RACE 1

LIM’S UNIQUE from the Meagher yard came close in his last start. His back in trip and can go one better here. Interesting to note jockey Danny Beasley has returned from retirement and has a good chance to open his account here even if the wide draw is a concern. DIAMOND MINE never a threat last time. His back on the polytrack, blinkers-pacifiers back on and he can bounce back here. ST ALWYN goes well on the polytrack, stable in-form and the 5 year-old bay gelding can make his presence felt.

RACE 2

CON SPERANZA from the Hideyuki Takaoka stable had an eye-catching debut when finishing second on the 7th of February. The son of Tavistock will strip fitter and will relish the extra 200m. FIGHTING HERO has had two placing’s in three starts. The 3 year-old bay gelding will be among the challengers.  EIGHT BALL doesn’t seem to be a reliable sort but he has shown some qualities. The blinkers come on and he can feature here.

RACE 3

SUN OPS returns from a long break, but the 4 year-old bay gelding has won his two barrier trials convincingly. The speedy son of I Am Invincible won two 900m races in Newcastle from nine starts. Winning debut on the cards here. SKY EYE has been racing in great form and held his own when stepped up in class last start. The wide draw is the only concern. SALVADOR  nice sort resuming after a long spell, close to two years. He may need the run, but he can run into the money.

RACE 4

WAWASAN had an eye-catching debut when finishing second over 1000m. The 4 year-old bay gelding will strip fitter and he should fight out the finish. OUR SECRET WEAPON is coming to hand and seems to need more ground. He can finish into the money. SPEARHEAD from the Ong stable needed his last run. The son of Shamus Award will strip fitter and can earn here.

RACE 5

Today’s value bet BIG DAY showed good improvement last time when finishing third. The 4 year-old bay gelding will strip fitter and should be right there. SUPER GREAT looked a winner last time but Decreto proved too good. The son of Zebedee jumps from a wide draw but can still finish into the money. BARBEQUE from the Mark Walker stable drops back in class. Recent form not inspiring but he gets the blinkers-pacifiers on and must be respected here.

RACE 6

ASAAD from the Meagher camp continues in good form. The son Orpen will strip fitter and should be right there. HARD TOO THINK had a fair comeback run. The 4 year-old bay gelding will strip fitter and isn’t as exposed as some here. MANDRAKE had an eye-catching comeback run when finishing second on the 23rd of January. The 5 year-old bay gelding is poorly drawn but is good enough to win this.

RACE 7

HIGH LIMIT has been the in the money in his last four starts. The 6 year-old bay gelding is well drawn and will go close here. HIGH VOLTAGE showed good improvement last time. On that run, he has to be included in this moderate affair. ENDLESS from the Peters stable returns from a break. The son of War Front is well drawn and if fit and well he can run into the money.

RACE 8

FORT MUSTANG looked like he could finally break through last time, but the vastly improved Tsurian held him at bay. The 4 year-old bay gelding is drawn well here again and looks a top prospect. ETWAS NEUES from the Hideyuki Takaoka yard had an eye-catching comeback run and the son of Strong Return will strip fitter today. SILKARDO was trapped four wide last time out, still tried his best and from barrier one, he will be a different proposition.

RACE 9

CELAVI smart mare who returns after a lengthy break. She has looked very good in all bar one of her races (had excuses) and should go very close. SUPER INVINCIBLE has joined the Mark Walker yard now and is down in class. The 4 year-old bay gelding is in good form and should be right there.  PATTAYA is up in class here having won last time in a Class 4. This is tougher but he continues to improve.

RACE 10

SURE WILL DO tasted first defeat in his third start, he was pressured for most of the way but he still fought on gamely. The 4 year-old bay gelding will be freshened up and can get back to winning ways. CALIFORNIA would have been a better prospect if not for his wide draw as he likes to sit up with the pace. He may have to be used up but still a worthy place. ATLAS from the Shane Donald Baertschiger returns from a long break if fit and well he must have a say here.
