A competitive nine-race programme is scheduled for Royal Randwick on Saturday. The best bet is REINVEST in Race 3. Race 1
PELTZER should get across from his wide draw without using too much energy and can maintain his unbeaten record, he gets top jockey Mcevoy, who rode him recently, is in the saddle again and should be very hard to beat in this contest, he has also used different tactics in both runs and it will be interesting to see what tactics he adopts today. YANGTZE RAPIDS made an eye-catching debut and receives 3kgs from the top selection and he could be the biggest threat in the field. OVERLORD is going along the right way but has yet to win a race and may have to settle for a place in this race.

Race 2
KEEN POWER, TEJORI and MOUSE ALMIGHTY are ALL in search of the hat – trick today so this looks a very competitive contest. KEEN POWER is the top selection, he returns from a 23-week rest and if he isn’t short of race fitness he should go very close in this class 3 handicap. TEJORI is a filly taking on males but she has top jockey McEvoy in the saddle who has a host of good mounts on the card this afternoon. GLAMOUR CAT enjoys the cut in the ground and with heavy going expected, she shouldn’t be ignored.

Race 3
REINVEST is unbeaten from 2 starts and will have plenty followers on the day, he jumps from pole position and with top jockey Hugh Bowman riding he could be the one that they all have to beat. READATHON has finished 2nd in her last 2 starts and shoulders a handy galloping mass, she is only 1 of 2 fillies in this race that could give the males a good run for their money. FOXBOROUGH is the other filly, she won her last start at Waga Waga and has had a successful campaign thus far, she could run into the places.

Race 4
NEW ARRANGEMENT has placed in his last 2 starts in soft going and should put in another decent performance, James Mcdonald was aboard in his penultimate run when beaten by Costello and that formline looks attractive with 2 horses having come out and won since. The mare ROCK DOVE was a shock winner in her last start at Warrick Farm but it is interesting to note that top jockey Hugh Bowman now rides LORD GODODDIN who will have to recapture his earlier form to be a contender.

Race 5
CORUSCATE has been in a rich vein of form for the notorious Godolphin Syndicate and was only outrun in the latter stages of his last outing at Caufield. That effort was in yielding conditions and with some heavy going expected, he should put in another honest performance. SOUTHERN LAD is a lively threat in this contest. He has won a race and finished second on three occasions from just six outings this season. His trainer should have him fit and ready. PASSAGE OF TIME is returning from a much-needed break and could be one to upset.

Race 6
BOLD AND WILD pulled off the hat-trick last time out and has his first run at Royal Randwick. He meets a competitive field but two horses that finished behind him in his last outing have come out to win since and he could take a power of beating. AGASSI is not the most consistent gelding but he must be danger racing at his home track. He was only caught late at the wire last time and must be included. MISS EINSTEIN likes to race off the speed and kick on very late. She can give the males a good run for their money.

Race 7
The daughter of Exceed and Excel, ENFLEURAGE, has had a terrific season thus far having won three races and she did win a Maiden Trial on this track in November of last year. HE’S SUPER LUCKY had good form prior to his win on Boxing Day and if he returns a fit horse, he should be right there at the business end. LONGBOTTOM ran a close-up second on this track last time out in soft going and must be respected in this line-up.

Race 8
DEALMAKER tried hard last time out when found one better in the form of Grand Piano. He carries a much more suitable mass today and could earn his third career victory. OUTRAGEOUS has put in two decent performances since returning from a break and can run into the places again. The mare OAKFIELD MISSILE is an interesting runner. She won her last start with ease and two horses that were behind her on that occasion, have come out to win since.

Race 9
HIGH LOW BET is returning from a well-deserved rest after pulling off a trio of wins and if returning a fit, she may represent each-way value with ex-South African jockey Glyn Schoefield in the irons. The New Zealand bred JAY JAY D’AR has placed on this track and could follow up on her latest victory with James Mcdonald aboard. The Godolphin owned SAKURA was beaten by Rocha Clock who was interestingly ridden by Hugh Bowman on that occasion and that formline has worked out fairly well with a winner coming from there since.
