Race 1
FAROOQ won from jump to wire last time out over 2100M and is sure to appreciate the drop in distance. He is drawn in gate two, which given his style in running, he should put to good use. WAR TIGER stayed on last time out over 2100M and looks to be the immediate danger to the former. MAHIS ANGEL steps up in trip from his last victory over a mile but should have no issue dealing with the extra ground of today’s contest. BRAMFIELD is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys and drops back in trip from 2500M. She should give the males a good run for their money.
Race 2
Three fillies look to dominate the finish here and they could complete the trifecta. The narrow first pick goes to DIALA who likes to lead the field in her races and fought off the chasing pace last time out to win over the six furlongs. She is likely to attempt similar tactics today. She won’t have everything her own way however as HARD ROCK GIRL is also a speedy sort who finished a close up second last time out over 1050M at this track. ZOUSHINE has finished either second or third in all three of her runs to date. She will be hoping to find herself in the winner’s box today. EXTRA TIME could be the first male home. He gets a set of blinkers fitted for the first time and if these have the desired effect, he could trouble the top three selections.
Race 3
FORTUNE FOLLOWS won well last time out over five furlongs after returning from a 16-week rest. He has a wideish draw to overcome, but he should be right up there when they hit the line. SYMPHONETTE is a 4yr old filly taking on males, but she was only narrowly beaten after racing wide last time out over this c&d. She is drawn wide at gate eleven, but she should be doing her best work late. FREE THRILLS is a 3yr old filly who was a tad disappointing last time out, but that was in heavy going. She won her penultimate start over 1100M in soft going and should be involved in the finish here. WHITE CAPS stayed on in his last outing over five furlongs and should enjoy the extra trip today.
Race 4
LUNAR LIGHT is a 3yr old filly taking on males, but she is a speedy sort who is sure to appreciate the drop in distance from her last outing over seven furlongs. She gets blinkers fitted for the first time and if these help her to keep her mind on the job on hand, she could be the one to side with here. I’M A LEGEND finished well to win his last run over 1250M and will get 3kgs removed from his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. CALYPSO REIGN was not disgraced in a feature race last time out over this distance and from draw five, he should be considered for all bets. MIDNIGHT STORM shows pace in his races and has pulled pole position which is a big plus.
Race 5
SILENT SOVEREIGN was just three lengths off the winner last time out in a feature race over ten furlongs when staying on well in the latter stages. He suffered interference that day and should have finished closer as a result. REALM OF FLOWERS finished strongly to win her last outing over ten furlongs suggesting that the step up in trip will be to her liking. STICK ‘EM UP won well last time out over 2020M. She was staying on well that day and on that showing, she should have little issue dealing with the extra distance here. BELLX was forced to race wide last time out over fourteen furlongs when eventually finishing only 1.65L behind the winner and will be suited to the drop in trip today.
Race 6
GIRL TUESDAY takes a step up in distance, but she was baulked for a run last time out over 1500M when full of running and seems likely to enjoy the extra distance here. With better luck in today’s race, she should be a serious contender today. NAIVASHA has her hat-trick attempt after finishing strongly to win her last start over a mile. The manner in which she has dispatched the opposition in those last two victories suggest that the trio is very much on the cards. LAMU goes the extra after running on for third last time out over a mile and seems likely to appreciate the extra ground. FIDELIA also steps up trip after posting four solid efforts over a mile and might well be looking for this greater test of stamina.
Race 7
HARBOUR VIEWS won his first three starts over various distances and has followed those victories up with close up finishes in his next two runs. He looks to be the one that they all have to beat here. DEXTER YOU DEVIL narrowly missed out on his hat-trick last time out over seven furlongs and will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today. SEABROOK is a 4yr old mare taking on the boys and has a wide draw to negotiate. She has however got consistent formlines to her name and possesses good early gate speed which should enable her to get across without using up too much energy. WAGING WAR was making good late progress in his last start over seven furlongs and should relish going the mile today.
Race 8
GYTRASH put over three lengths between himself and the rest of the field when winning his last starts over 1100M and on that performance, he may be difficult to topple here. SANTA ANA LANE enjoys the six-furlong journey and has solid overall form to his credit and could be the biggest danger to the top selection. LYRE is a 3yr old filly taking on hard-knocking males, but she was only narrowly beaten in her last run over the c&d and should keep the boys honest. BEHEMOTH finished a good second last time out over 1100M at this track after returning from a 26-week break. If not in need of one more outing, he could be involved in the finish here.
Race 9
HUMMA HUMMA was hardly disgraced last time out in a feature race over the c&d and should be right up there in the firing line today. MYSTERY LOVE was a little disappointing last time out over six furlongs, but that was in heavy going and on her prior form, she should be respected in this line-up. TOO GOOD TOO HARD is drawn in gate thirteen, but she got going far too late last time out over six furlongs. She should be picking off the frontrunners at the business end of affairs. MISS MANDITO won her latest outing over this c&d when friendless in the betting market. That was just her second start for her new trainer and she may be able to trouble the top three selections, starting from her handy draw.
