RACE 1
SUPER KIN was forced to race wide without cover last time out and that run is best ignored. He finished runner-up on debut under Zac Purton and it is encouraging to see the pair re-united for this contest. If putting his best foot forward then he will have claims in a very open contest. HANDOME REBEL was found to be lame post-race after his latest which makes the effort that much more encouraging. He will likely settle in just behind the speed and he will get all the necessary assistance with Karis Teetan in the saddle. GOLDIE FLANKER has moderate form barring the form of his win in April but if putting his best foot forward then he can run into the money.
RACE 2
BUNDLE OF ENERGY has finished runner-up in his last three outings. He was just caught in the shadow of the post last time out and can make amends with Zac Purton retaining the ride. TREASURE CHEST has no luck in running last time but when he got a clear passage up the rail he finished strongly. If repeating that type of effort then he will be able to pose a threat to the top selection. ROYAL RACER ran on steadily last time out and he has the ability to run into the money.
RACE 3
STAR SUPERIOR was only beaten a neck last time out by Thou Shall Sing. Karis Teetan jumps back in the saddle and the pair can make up for their disappointing penultimate effort when one-paced. EIGHT TRIGRAMS put in a bold effort to win his last start. He beat FORTUNE HAPPINESS and SUPER ALLIANCES that day and will benefit from a 4kgs claiming apprentice which suggests he will be a runner again at the weights.
RACE 4
SOCCER MASTER and Matthew Poon are absolutely scintillating form. The pair beat Bundle Of Energy last time out and the form of their recent rival should be followed closely (Runs in Race 2). If that form is franked then he will no doubt be a strong contender to reel off the hat-trick of wins. SHINEALOT got going too late last time out but if he urged along a little earlier in the straight then he will be able to throw out a challenge to the top selection. Interestingly Karis Teetan has opted to ride this over ADONIS who brings decent form into this contest.
RACE 5
WONDER EXPRESS wasn’t disgraced last time when beaten just over 2L by REGENCY MASTER. He is now 3kgs better off at the weights. That should be enough to bring the pair closer together and they can fight out the finish of this contest. MANAGEMENT STAR ran a decent race when finished runner-up behind Natural Storm and if returning fit to the races then he can run into the money. FAMILY LEADER is held by the third selection on his last run but he cannot be ignored with Magic Moreira in the irons.
RACE 6
BULLISH GLORY has won his last two outings in fine fashion and the hat-trick looks very much on the cards. He is drawn best of all and if there is a solid pace in the race then he will be right there in the run down to the wire. PEARL CHAMPION performed flatly last time out but if reproducing the form of his penultimate run then he can challenge in this Class 4 Handicap. GALLANT CROWN made vast improvement in his last start and probably should have finished closer as he got cramped for room with a furlong to go. If repeating that type of effort then he will pick up the pieces.
RACE 7
ENSHRINED was unlucky to be narrowly beaten last time out as he found interference on two occasions in the race. His prior form isn’t attractive but does represent value for racing pundits on that last effort alone. SILVER FIG won his last start under this top French jockey and if he returns fit then he may be able to make it back-to-back wins. Karis Teetan has intriguingly opted to ride WILL POWER over CALIFORNIA CONCORD but they both have claims on best form and can surprise in this contest.
RACE 8
SKY FIELD won his last start and the way he drew off in final stages suggests that he still possibly ahead of his rating. He seems at best over this distance at this stage of his career, Magic Moreira keeps faith in the ride and the pair should take a power of beating. TEMPEST EXPRESS brings some smart feature race form from Australia and he could be absolutely anything if adapting to the conditions in Hong Kong. TRUE LEGEND is a consistent sort that performs well for Karis Teetan and the pair need to be considered from an inside barrier position.
