Race 1
COSTA ZOU has improved to run second in his last two starts, the latest over the mile and despite being drawn the widest of them all, he looks to be the one to side with here. CALIFORNIA SPELL is drawn one inside the former and steps up from 1500M of his last run. A repeat of his penultimate effort when third over this distance would make him a danger to the former. He will be assisted by having 2kgd removed from his back thanks to his claiming apprentice. OUR CHEEKY MONKEY is a 3yr old filly taking on the boys. She steps up from seven furlongs when fourth, 1.8L behind the winner, but she has drawn two and should give the males a good run for their money. JAZIRAT is another 3yr old filly who was staying on last time out over 1300M and should enjoy going the extra ground.
Race 2
Two 3yr old fillies could dominate the finish here and complete the exacta. The top pick goes to DE GRAWIN who returns from a 19-week break but has had the benefit of two barrier trials. She has only had the two runs to date, but did finish second last time out before the rest, just 1.5L behind the winner. GISELLE ANNE has shown gradual improvement in her last two outings and if she has continued down that same path, she could be the immediate threat to the top choice. FENECH makes his debut here but has finished second in both of his barrier trials. Any betting support for him should be respected. ABSOLUTELY FOXY is a 2yr old filly taking on elder horses and has her first run since a 14-week rest. She has had a barrier trial and could be good enough to be involved in the finish today.
Race 3
ALL THINGS won his penultimate start over a mile and was then not disgraced next time out over nine furlongs when 1,6L behind the winner. He has gate ten to overcome but should be right up there when they hit the line. CROWN AFFAIR also won his penultimate outing, this time over the c&d, where he put 7.8L between himself and the balance of the field. He was disappointing last time out over ten furlongs, but he will be looking to put that run behind him and challenge for top spot here. LORD TROPICANA showed good improvement last time out when second over 2100M, a half-length behind the winner. QINGHAI LAKE has consistent formlines to his credit. He steps up in distance after finishing second in his last two starts over a mile. If taking to the trip, he should be respected here.
Race 4
DEVAN goes to the post looking to complete his hat-trick here after winning his last two starts, one over five furlongs and the penultimate victory over this distance. From his three draw, he looks to be the one that they all have to beat. CRIMLET is a 3yr old filly taking on males. She finished sixth last time out over 1100M when returning from a 16-week break. She has a wide draw to negotiate, but she should keep the top selection honest. SHADOW BRIDGE showed good improvement last time out when fifth, 2.8L behind the winner over five furlongs. He will have 2kgs taken off his allocated weight courtesy of his claiming apprentice. ESTRADO is another 3yr old filly. She was staying on in her last outing over 1100M suggesting that the extra ground will be to her liking.
Race 5
MAISAA has cracked pole position and has consistent formlines to her name. She was running on strongly when second last time out, when beaten just 0.8L and could go one better today. HARD LADY also has very consistent form, winning her last outing over six furlongs. She jumps from gate seven and could test the former. SPIRIT WORLD won her maiden race last time out over 1300M. She takes on stronger here, but may well be up to the task on hand. SKY DIAMONDS drops down from 1500M where she finished third, 1.4L behind the victor and could do better as a result.
Race 6
SALSA MAN is seldom far off the action and did finish second last time out over 1300M. He has draw eight to deal with, but he is likely to turn in another honest performance today. CUBIX has finished second in his last two outings over 1300M and will be hoping to go one better today. His handy sixth gate is a plus. SNITZIFY had his consistency rewarded with a win last time out over seven furlongs. He is drawn thirteen out of sixteen, but he possesses early gate speed and is likely to be able to move across without expending too much energy. LIVE THE MOMENT finished four lengths back last time out over 1300M. He is drawn in gate nine, but he should be picking off the frontrunner is the dash down to the wire.
