Race 1
SMOKIN’ TOMMY made good improvement last time out when stepping up to six furlongs and seems likely to enjoy the extra distance here. From pole position, he may be the one to be with today. EROE returns from a 27-week break and has a handy draw. He will get 2kgs taken off his back thanks to his claiming apprentice to help his cause. ME AND MY DRUM goes the extra distance here but was staying on his last outing over five furlongs and although drawn wide, he should be considered in this line-up. MISTA LONGHORN made steady late progress last time out over six furlongs and is sure to appreciate the extra ground on offer today.

Race 2
TABATHA MISS is a three-year-old filly taking on the boys, but her last two efforts over six furlongs have been encouraging and she will be assisted by having 4kgs removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming apprentice. BEAT IT finished third on debut over five furlongs in soft going. He would have learnt from the experience and with the natural improvement that can be expected, he should pose a threat to the former. VULPES has his first run for his new trainer and has a wide draw to deal with, but he could use his early gate speed to get across without using up too much energy. FAMILY STAR returns from a 24-week rest. He did finish fifth on debut over five furlongs but was just 1.6L behind the winner. If not in need of the run, he should be respected here.

Race 3
HORORA VEL won from gun to tape over 1300M to win his maiden race last time out. He drops back down to five furlongs here, but he finished second in his penultimate outing over this trip, just one length behind the winner, so this should not be an issue. BUOYANCY followed up his maiden victory with a solid effort next time out over the same distance. He looks the immediate threat to the former. THE GROVE returns from a 31-week break, but he did finish strongly to win his maiden race over six furlongs and if not too much in need of the run, he could be involved in the finish today. KISS THE BOSS is a five-year-old mare taking on males and has to jump from a wide draw. She did win from the front last time out over five furlongs and will probably use the same tactics today.

Race 4
BACHELOR’S ART has put in two solid performances over this trip and starting from draw four, he must be a big runner here. LITTLE STRYKER is a six-year-old mare taking on the boys, but she missed out on her hat-trick last time out over five furlongs and will be hoping to get back to winning ways today. She has proven form on soft going. DESERT COWBOY won his last outing over five furlongs and steps up in trip, but he likes to race up with the pace in his races, and draw three can only be a plus. IMANUI steps back up to six furlongs here, but he won over this trip three runs back, so this should not present a problem.

Race 5
JEUX has cracked pole position. He was making good late progress last time out over 1250M and was just 1.8L behind the winner in his run prior to that over seven furlongs, so he should be right at home over this trip. CHEVAUX has bumped at the start in his last outing over this distance and did well to finish where he did. He should be right up there in the mix. INTENSE FOCUS stayed on well in his last start over six furlongs, suggesting that he should enjoy the extra ground today. MYSTIC EYES is a five-year-old mare taking on the boys and has her first run for her new trainer. She was a surprise winner of her last start over six furlongs in soft going and if fully acclimatized to her new surroundings, she should be respected here.

Race 6
SUPER MARIO is seldom too far off the action and finished just a neck back when second last time out over a mile in soft going. From his handy draw, he could be the one that they all have to beat. WHILE WE CAN has consistent formlines to his name and has done well in soft underfoot conditions in the past. He looks to be the biggest danger to the top choice. TRIUMPH STAR finished well last time out over a mile and from draw two he should not be lightly dismissed here. RED PHANTOM was hardly disgraced in his last two outings over this distance and is one for the shortlist.

Race 7
The three dangers to the top choice MISS FLAWLESS all return from breaks of varying lengths and she may be able to take advantage of that fact to record the win here. She is a four-year-old filly taking on males, but she has pulled pole position and looks the value in the race. STAR BANNER returns from a 20 rest, but he is a speedy sort who was only denied his hat-trick last time out before the break by 0.8L. He should put in another honest performance once again. WICKED DANCER has his first run since an even longer 32-week break. He won his last outing over six furlongs and should be respected in this field. DALON returns from 20 weeks off the race track. He was not far off the winner in his last outing over this trip and should be considered here.

Race 8
This looks like a tricky race to end the day’s program as three of the leading selections have wide draws to overcome. MOSEF returns from a 20-week rest and has drawn gate twelve. He does, however, like to race up with the leaders and did post a victory over this trip in his penultimate outing. He is also proven on a soft track. AS YAWOOD is a six-year-old mare taking on makes, but she will start from gate four. She was a little disappointing when missing out on her hat-trick last time out over seven furlongs, but she will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways today. FOX STREET is drawn fifteen out of nineteen runners, but in his favor, he likes to be up with the leaders in his runs and might not be too disadvantaged here. SPACEX has an even wider eighteen gate, but he too likes to race handy and could still feature here with a bit of luck in running.
