Race 4
CATAPULT has shown steady improvement in his last three runs and was making good late progress when finishing second last time out over six furlongs, just a head behind the winner, despite hanging over the final 150M. From his handy draw four, he looks to be the one to side with here. SAUSEDGE is a 5yr old mare taking on the boys and returns from a 30-week break but has had the benefit of two barrier trials to prove her fitness. She is seldom far off the action and although seventh in her last start over seven furlongs, she was just three lengths behind the winner. She jumps from gate six and will have 3kgs taken off her back thanks to her claiming apprentice to aid her cause. EL BUENA stayed on well to show good improvement to win his maiden race by a head last time out over six furlongs. He takes on stronger today, but is drawn one inside the latter and should be included in all bets.
Race 5
UNAMERICAN has cracked pole position. He hit the front at the 200M mark and then proceeded to put two and a half lengths between himself and the balance of the field to win his last outing over this trip. The form of that race has been franked and he is taken to be the value bet on the card. NYAMI is looking to complete his hat-trick after winning his last start over a mile by a neck. He steps up in distance, but the way he finished in that last victory would suggest that this should not be an issue. He could emerge as the biggest danger to the top choice. KARMAZONE has consistent formlines to his name and was also staying on well before ending up a length and a half fourth last time out over a mile. He is drawn one inside the latter and should be right up there when they hit the wire.
Race 6
INSTANT ATTRACTION showed solid improvement to win her last outing over seven furlongs by a head. She had to be switched at the 200M mark that day which makes the win that much more encouraging. She gets to jump from gate five and may prove to be difficult to topple today. PHEMONOE goes back over seven furlongs after finishing sixth last time out over six furlongs, just under three lengths off the winner. She seems more suited to this trip and whilst having to negotiate draw nine, she could threaten the top pick. SNIPPY FOX has finished third in her last two runs, the latest over 1300M when just over two lengths behind the winner. She was only run out of it late that day and will have 3kgs removed from her allocated weight courtesy of her claiming apprentice. Her draw three is a plus and she should be involved somewhere in the finish.
Race 7
SHADOW CRUSH has won two of his last three runs over this distance, the latest by 1.3L. He hit the front as they entered the home straight and held off all the late challengers in the dash down to the line. He has gate four and will have the services of a 3kgs claiming apprentice. LET IT POUR is a 4yr old filly taking on males and has pulled pole position. She is not often too far off the winner and finished second in her last outing over this trip, just a half-length behind the winner. She seems likely to turn in another honest performance here to give the boys a good run for their money. DUNBRODY POWER is a 5yr old mare who has her first run since a 19-week rest, but she did finish third in her only barrier trial to showcase her well-being. She is a consistent sort who although seventh in her latest run, was just two lengths back from the victor. She is drawn wideout in gate twelve, but is likely to be dropped out of it early and then start to pick off the frontrunner over the latter stages of the contest.
