JOCKEY Comments:
Last Winter has the brilliant Piere Strydom in the saddle. As usual Piere has studied the form particularly well and this is what he had to say. “Last Winter is 7kgs out at the weights which means he has 7 lengths to make up. This is a very tough task. In his favour is the fact that he is lightly raced and has scope for improvement. For my part I would be happy to run a place. For those interested my four for the race are Legal Eagle, Marinaresco, Captain America and Sail South,” were Piere’s closing words.

TRAINER Comments:
Trainer Dean Kannemeyer was very forthcoming when asked about his 4 year old Western Winter colt Last Winter. “He is exceptionally well and everything is on track for a big run from him.  He has a top jockey but, as in all top races, he is going to need luck in running. He is coming into the race with fresh legs which is a big factor in his favour.” were Dean’s optimistic words.

MAGIC TIPS (Winning Form) Comment:
Progressing quickly, lost unbeaten record narrowly, should love this extra furlong.
