KEMPTON PARK
Race 2: No11 – ASTAPOR (Nap)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass
ASTAPOR ran into the money on his only all-weather start here earlier in the month before another frame finish in a nursery over a mile at Chepstow. He’s taking his racing well and has a good draw from which to gain a handy early position.
Race 5: No4 – WOODCOCK
Trainer: Henry Candy – Jockey: David Probert
WOODCOCK has started 80-1 and 40-1 for his two starts so far, showing improvement to finish fourth to Jumaira Bay in a seven furlongs Chepstow maiden. Finding himself in a weak division of this maiden, the gelding should enjoy stretching out to a mile and can thwart Lover’s Moon.
Race 6: No8 – CHAIRMAN POWER
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa
The most unexposed runner in this Class 5 handicap, CHAIRMAN POWER finished behind Myseven at Lingfield earlier in the month but that served to bring him closer to the boil and he looks attractively weighted for this first outing in this type of race.
REDCAR
Race 4: No6 – LEXINGTON FORCE (Nap)
Trainer: Richard Hannon – Jockey: Paul Mulrennan
Lightly-raced three-year-old LEXINGTON FORCE can prove too hot for his mainly older rivals to handle on this first run on turf. The Dabirsim colt scored on debut at Kempton in February and returned from almost six months off to chase home Endured at the same course. With his stable hitting it’s stride, he should prove hard to beat.
Race 6: No6 – ROONG ROONG
Trainer: Tim Easterby – Jockey: David Allan
Dark Angel filly ROONG ROONG has run well on both starts since joining the Easterby operation, finishing second in a novice at Redcar and third in another at Catterick. She might be the value option in a race where Praised will be the popular choice, based on her own two good efforts to earn at Yarmouth and Lingfield.
YARMOUTH
Race 1: No11 – DUSK (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Ryan Moore
By Galileo out of Breeders’ Cup winner Dank, DUSK can put that all-important first win on the board in this fillies’ handicap. She made a jump forward when second to Viola at Lingfield and has pleased in her subsequent work. Getting weight from the majority of her foes, she can thwart the recent Newcastle scorer Progressive.
Race 5: No2 – SPIRITED GUEST
Trainer: George Margarson – Jockey: Tom Queally
SPIRITED GUEST came good over six furlongs here last month, an experience that’s given him a needed confidence boost. He had run a number of good races in defeat and shouldn’t be troubled by a return to the minimum trip.
HEXHAM
Race 4: No3 – JEN’S BOY
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nicole Boinville
Representing top connections, JEN’S BOY has managed to find one to beat him in each of his last three outings, but can now put the record straight. He’s made a smooth transition to jumping fences and is strongly fancied to justify the long journey from Lambourn to Northumberland.
Race 8: No1 – BALMUICK (Nap)
Trainer: Nicky Henderson – Jockey: Nico de Boinville
The Henderson/de Boinville combo has an excellent chance of taking out the bumper and completing a quickfire double with BALMUICK. The gelded son of Australian sire So You Think has shown abundant promise at home, and should outclass his foes.
