LINGFIELD PARK
Race 1 No1 BLINDEDBYTHELIGHTS (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Mark Prescott – Jockey: Luke Morris
BLINDEDBYTHELIGHTS left previous form behind when bolting up on handicap debut at Yarmouth last week. He greatly appreciated racing over a longer trip, and should have little difficulty shrugging aside a 6lb penalty.
Race 2 No7 OBAMA ARMY
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Charles Bishop
OBAMA ARMY is taking his racing well and can make this a deserved second career triumph after looking a shade unlucky not to score at Carlisle last time. The Washington DC gelding was a game winner of his previous start at Bath, having finished second on his previous two outings. He looks sure to take away another cheque.
SOUTHWELL
Race 4 No6 SHANDANCER (Nap)
Trainer: Amy Murphy – Jockey: Jack Quinlan
SHANDANCER might have won but for being badly hampered by a faller at the final Stratford flight and rates a winner without a penalty. His trainer adds blinkers here, thereby increasing his chances of ending a frustrating sequence of near-misses.
Race 6 No4 NADIM
Trainer: Milton Harris – Jockey: Harry Cobden
NADIM has gradually found his feet and put in his best effort yet when second to Pak Army on his handicap bow at Stratford. From a 3lb higher mark he should have more to offer, and can open his account.
WINDSOR
Race 2 No11 SOUTH KENSINGTON (Nap)
Trainer: Hugo Palmer – Jockey: James Doyle
SOUTH KENSINGTON put in a pleasing first effort at Newmarket in a race that has worked out. The Blue Point filly led running into the dip only to weaken in the final 150 yards but will be more streetwise. She’s always shown plenty at home, and should have too much for Painite and Lincoln Legacy.
Race 6 No2 DESPERATE HERO (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand
DESPERATE HERO has taken time to gain full fitness this year, but really thrived since his latest earning start at Goodwood in what was probably a good race. He’s now fully primed to put his best foot forward, with a big run in the offing.
Race 7 No9 PARTY ISLAND (Each Way)
Trainer: Denis Coakley – Jockey: Tom Marquand
PARTY ISLAND has gone forward from race to race this year and now enjoys his best winning chance, getting weight from each of his rivals. If he can step up just a little on his run at this course three weeks ago he should finish bang in the mix.
PONTEFRACT
Race 3 No7 C’MON KENNY (Each Way)
Trainer: Ian Williams – Jockey: Andrew Mullen
C’MON KENNY went down in a blanket finish at Haydock last month when beaten just three-quarters of a length into third. That was only a second race for him in more than a year, and shows there is likely to be more to come, especially with regard to how few miles he’s run up on his racing clock.
