LEICESTER

Race 4 No1 ARDBRACCAN (Nap)
Trainer: Mike Appleby – Jockey: Frederick Larson

ARDBRACCAN can gain a deserved and overdue victory in this fillies’ handicap and in doing so concede weight all round. The five-year-old faces an improving rivals in Style Of Life, but can compete off the same mark as when a close second on his latest start at Sandown.

Race 6 No8 SEA JOURNEY (Each Way)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Kieran Shoemark

SEA JOURNEY is easily the most interesting runner on this card, and should open her account with the bonus being that it’s a warm race and she’s carded to start at a bigger price than I thought she would. By Sea The Starts out of Group race winning mare Journey, she made Winston’s Tipple fight for the spoils on her Lingfield return, showing in the process that she enjoyed stepping up to this mile and a quarter. Returned to grass there should be more to come from her.

HAMILTON PARK

Race 2 No5 THECLA (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Tom Eaves

THECLA kept on well for a podium finish at Carlisle in spite of proving easy to back. She revelled in the easy conditions, and in an almost identical situation here can go be better, with Koulikoro her main barrier to success.

Race 4 No8 MINSTREL KNIGHT
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

MINSTREL KNIGHT has rarely missed out on a pay day, going six races on the bounce with frame finishes since his first start. He returned from a mid season break to chase home Aulis at Southwell and could have benefitted from that, though he’s up a rung on the class ladder today.

SEDGEFIELD

Race 5 No1 INGENNIO (Nap)
Trainer: Micky Hammond – Jockey: Brian Hughes

INGENNIO has progressed in his three outings since joining his trainer, with his best run at Stratford where he finished second to Aviewtosea. There has been a penny of support for him and now that he’s had time to settle into the yard today could be the day for him to experience the winning feeling that he earned with back-to-back Fakenham triumphs in the spring.

WOLVERHAMPTON

Race 2 No2 GOOD BANTER (Nap)
Trainer: Clive Cox – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

The Cox stable has been red hot over the past few days, and if GOOD BANTER can overcome a tricky outer draw in this novice he should be another scorer for his Sheepdrove handler. The Calyx colt finished second on his introduction at Salisbury, a track where two-year-olds can learn a lot on debut, while he’s worked well on an all-weather surface at home.

Race 5 No7 BANANA (Each Way)
Trainer: Scott Dixon – Jockey: Mikkel Mortensen

BANANA can end a long wait for a first career success at a track where she’s raced far more than anywhere else. The Aclaim mare hasn’t started less than 28-1 and as big as 125-1 on her last six outings but I fancy she will be shorter this evening, as it was only in a blanket finish that she was beaten into third over course and distance last week.

Race 8 No6 LADY AVA
Trainer: Ed Dunlop – Jockey: Rossa Ryan

LADY AVA finished well for a seasonal best run at Southwell and now steps up to nine furlongs from seven. With a similar effort she should take plenty of beating, and repel the challenges of Waleyfa and the unexposed Ya Rayah.

Place Accumulator Perm (Races 3-9)

7, 1, 2 x 1, 7 x 7, 10, 6 x 2, 6, 7 x 5, 1 x 6, 1 x 6
