YORK

Race 3 No3 REAL DREAM (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Oisin Orr

Stoute has engaged top northern rider Orr for REAL DREAM who returns to a track where he’s experienced mixed fortunes in the past. Taken wide of his foes from a wide draw the gelding capitulated in last year’s Ebor but there was encouragement in his effort to chase home Maxi King on reappearance at Newmarket. He’s put in some solid work since and is more than capable of notching success in Listed company.

Race 4 No5 TROPICAL ISLAND (Each Way)
Trainer: Richard Fahey – Jockey: Oisin Orr

Orr has a tasty book of rides and can do well in the race that used to be the feature of this meeting when it was known as Timeform Charity Day. The TROPICAL ISLAND only once failed to trouble the judge in her juvenile season and can prove the pick from her trainer’s quartet of runners. The daughter of Inns Of Court ended 2023 with an earning run in Listed company and that was over today’s course and distance.

Race 7 No6 TIRIAC (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Callum Rodriguez

I thought TIRIAC was given a peach when getting up in the final stride to make it a second success of the year on this hallowed strip last month. Named after the doubles partner of Ile Nastase, the selection is starting to realise his early career potential and has his tail up. If Rodriguez can replay the same tactics as Kieran Shoemark the combination are carded to stage another earning run and with underfoot conditions in his favour he rates one of the best bets of the day.

SANDOWN PARK

Race 3 No2 ADAAY IN DEVON (Nap)
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: Silvestre De Sousa

ADAAY IN DEVON has excelled as the flagship of her trainer’s West Country stable. She took out back-to-back races at Bath including a Listed, finished second in a Group 3 at Ascot and stayed on for another frame finish back in Listed company at Newbury. Her style of running will be suited to this track and she stands out as one to be on.

Race 4 No1 MOUNT TEIDE
Trainer: Andrew Balding – Jockey: Oisin Murphy

MOUNT TEIDE was thwarted by an 80-1 shot after being heavily supported at Newbury, but then made no mistake at Chepstow. He enters the handicap arena as a horse to follow in ownership that is relatively new to Park House Stables, and can confirm his recent superiority over Swindon.

CHESTER

Race 1 No3 DEATH OR GLORY
Trainer: Richard Fahey – Jockey: Ryan Sexton

DEATH OR GLORY figures to be a big player with the favoured rail to assist him. The Kodiac colt chased home a decent yardstick when in need of the experience at Hamilton, and has learned plenty from it.

Race 3 No8 HOSANNA POWER (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

HOSANNA POWER brings strong form to the table in this all-aged handicap with a profile his master trainer knows how to embellish. The Frankel gelding had a previous winner behind him on a successful return to action at Newbury, and though not devoid of training issues is starting to realise his undoubted potential.

Race 4 No10 BURDETT (Each Way)
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Ray Dawson

Blue Prince is well drawn in this race round a lap of the Roodee and has to run well granted his good record in similar handicaps this season. In contrast, BURDETT has to cope with being drawn on the outside. It could prove a kiss of death for the Inns Of Court gelding but if getting a smart break I can see him running well. He was very impressive on his latest start when coming from well off the pace to power home at York, while the cut in the ground that’s so important to him is evident.

Race 8 No4 OMAN
Trainer: Tony Carroll – Jockey: Zak Wheatley

Carroll has succeeded in sweetening-up the mercurial OMAN who likes this course and is well treated on his best form. He should not be fazed moving up in trip under a capable apprentice who takes 3lb off his back.

LEICESTER

Race 3 No6 TIGER BEETLE (Each Way)
Trainer: Mark Rimell – Jockey: Billy Loughnane

TIGER BEETLE has flattered only to deceive on more than one occasion this year, but the addition of top apprentice Loughnane as well as first-time blinkers could instil some added verve into the six-year-old to get him home in this low-grade race.

UTTOXETER

Race 4 No7 JEAN GENIE (Each Way)
Trainer: Tim Vaughan – Jockey: David Noonan

JEAN GENIE usually lights up the board and has shown in both outings this year that he’s as good as ever. The strong travelling grey should again trouble the judge in this admittedly hot novices’ handicap chase.

Race 7 No2 MR TAMBOURINE MAN (Each Way)
Trainer: David Pipe – Jockey: Jack Tudor

After being out of sorts with himself last season, MR TAMBOURINE MAN has found a new lease on life and got the job done in efficient fashion at Worcester a fortnight ago. He’s in the mood to keep up the good work for a stable whose summer jumpers have shown themselves to be in good order generally.

Place Accumulator Perm (Races 2-8)

5 x 5, 11, 2 x 7, 8 x 4, 2, 1 x 3, 1 x 2, 3, 7 x 3, 5
