EPSOM DOWNS

Race 1 No7 CHOURMO (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass

Postponed colt CHOURMO possesses good tactical speed that should serve him well from his plum draw on the rail on this undulating switchback course. He appeared to run out of puff at the end of his latest outing at Yarmouth, but is back to seven furlongs for a first run in a nursery.

Race 4 No5 TARTAN CHIEF (Each Way)
Trainer: Paul Cole – Jockey: Mohammed Tabti

Consistency is the watchword of TARTAN CHIEF who can deservedly take out this long distance apprentices’ handicap. The grey makes a swift return to the course following a narrow defeat at Newbury, and showed with his similar effort on previous run that he handles Epsom.

Race 7 No10 WHISTLEDOWN (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: George Bass

WHISTLEDOWN is a filly with the balance and brawn to be in her comfort zone on a specialist track. She’s demonstrated this with successes at this course and Brighton, while also placing twice at the same venues. Now in a Class4 she faces a tougher task, but there could easily be more to come from her.

YARMOUTH

Race 1 No7 KANAWHA (Each Way)
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Tom Marquand

Kodiac filly KANAWHA failed to cut the mustard as a 125-1 roughie at Haydock but at the same time qualified for a lowly initial mark. Highly tried in her previous races at Ascot and Newbury, she shouldn’t be allowed to run loose, and can pick up a cheque.

Race 4 No5 INFINITIVE (Nap)
Trainer: Sir Michael Stoute – Jockey: Richard Kingscote

The impeccably bred INFINITIVE will never be as good as her Group 1 winning dam Integral, but she ran well on her only completed start, and was unfortunate that her pilot got unseated from her at Wolverhampton. She had been supported for that first all-weather start, and though up against some well-regarded rivals from premier division stables, can now open her account.

FFOS LAS

Race 4 No7 ON EDGE (Nap)
Trainer: Chris Mason – Jockey: Aidan Keeley

ON EDGE appeals as the best bet on this card, and needs to be taken very seriously. He landed a quiet touch with something in reserve at Chepstow, but was unable to withstand the horse he beat, Peachey Carnehan, when returning to the same venue under a penalty. However, this strong traveller is getting plenty of weight from the majority of his foes, and can bounce back.

Race 5 No9 MASTER GREY (Each Way)
Trainer: Rod Millman – Jockey: Tyler Heard

This ultra competitive Stayers’ Series Final can see MASTER GREY claiming a cheque. The gelding has earned on two of three previous occasions he’s run here, and returns on the back of a Polytrack success at Lingfield and an earning run at Wolverhampton. It’s over three years since he last won on turf, but this is within his compass.

Race 6 No6 ARTHALOT
Trainer: Victor Dartnall – Jockey: George Rooke

A rare runner on the Flat for this stable, ARTHALOT is unexposed and has stamina on both sides of his pedigree for his return to the South Wales course. He was denied by just a neck over the same trip in an amateur riders’ handicap last month on just a third outing for his trainer, and if repeating the run can now prevail.
