CHEPSTOW

Race 4 No11 KINGSMILL GIN (Each Way)

KINGSMILL GIN won nicely at Taunton and then plugged on from well off the pace to snatch a minor cheque at this course last month. If ridden more prominently the lightly-waited gelding can again get into the shake-up.

Race 6 No7 STANLEY PINCOMBE (Nap)
Trainer: Chris Gordon – Jockey: Joshua Moore

STANLEY PINCOMBE worried Pilsdon Pen out of it at Warwick and that form has been given a sizeable boost by the runner-up. Connections are out to strike while the iron’s hot, and the five-year-old can get the better of lightly-raced Heltenham.

HUNTINGDON

Race 1 No4 JEREMY THE JINN
Trainer: Fergal O’Brien – Jockey: Paddy Brennan

Unless newcomer Doublethetrouble is above average this should rest between JEREMY THE JINN and Cornicello, with preference for the former. The Jeremy gelding has earned on successive visits to Taunton and learned much from those excursions.

Race 5 No2 AJERO (Nap)
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: David Bass

Now that AJERO has got back into the winning habit he is a horse to follow through the spring weeks. A multiple scorer as a novice, it’s taken him a while to get his mojo back after a couple of disappointing runs back, but he showed a gritty attitude to score at Taunton last month, a run that has boosted his confidence levels.

SEDGEFIELD

Race 6 No3 TIM PAT (Nap)
Trainer: Donald McCain Jnr – Jockey: Brian Hughes

While it’s hard to discount any of the three in this novices’ handicap chase TIM PAT is the logical choice. Not only did he take to fences like a duck to water when scoring at Carlisle, but his stable can’t stop firing out the winners. Furthermore he’s out of a mare by Presenting, suggesting any drying of the ground will not hinder him.
