LEICESTER

Race 1 No3 GOBSMACKED
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Tom Eaves

GOBSMACKED hails from a stable whose juveniles invariably come on a long way with a run under their belts. This theory can be safely applied to the Havana Grey colt, who was green on his earning introduction at Hamilton. While weakening at the end of that slightly longer contest he has learned in spades, and will finish off his race.

Race 2 No5 JORGE ALVARES (Nap)
Trainer: Kevin Ryan – Jockey: Tom Eaves

From the same stable JORGE ALVARES is an attractive proposition. Considering he hunted up a couple of Royal Ascot-bound colts on his first run at York, he has very strong credentials to bring to the table, and should make no mistake.

Race 5 No5 SPIRIT OF THE ROSE
Trainer: Clive Cox – Jockey: William Buick

Lambourn challenger SPIRIT OF THE ROSE represents top connections in this first handicap assignment. The Showcasing filly posted frame finishes in each of her outings that obtained her a mark, and looks a tempting proposition on this switch of codes with progression very much the cards.

Race 6 No9 KALAMA SUNRISE
Trainer: Jack Channon – Jockey: Edward Greatrex

KALAMA SUNRISE troubled the judge on return from a long absence at Brighton where she looked dangerous only to get tired in the final 150 yards. Not only will that experience have done her good physically, but she will also appreciate a step back to 1400 metres under a jockey who after a three-year absence is hungry for success.

REDCAR

Race 2 No5 BERRYGATE (Nap)
Trainer: Ed Bethell – Jockey: Danny Tudhope

Gregorian filly BERRYGATE put in a pleasing run when second at Newcastle last month to earn for the third time in four 2024 outings. While she’s not obviously well treated, she can now open her account helped by a switch to grass.

Race 4 No2 SHADOWOFYOURSMILE
Trainer: Charlie Fellowes – Jockey: Danny Tudhope

The namesake of Johnny Mandel’s haunting melody, SHADOWOFYOURSMILE might prove the answer to a weak-looking maiden handicap. It’s hard to know what she achieved when third in a five-runner affair at Doncaster, but at least she showed she can act on turf, while today’s longer trip should also prove a boon to her.

BANGOR-ON-DEE

Race 3 No1 TREGELE ( Each Way)
Trainer: Kim Bailey – Jockey: Ciaran Gethings

TREGELE has put in some solid efforts that have seen him run well in all but one of his five starts over hurdles. He remains unexposed, and although having to give away weight all round is the best horse in the race, he just needs to show it.

Race 4 No6 FLAMING AMBITION (Nap)
Trainer: Gary Hanmer – Jockey: Robbie Dunne

FLAMING AMBITION was doing his best work at the finish when edging the spoils over Good Work at Uttoxeter which was his first run over fences. It was also his first appearance in exactly two years, and makes him a very interesting runner that should have a lot more to give over this suitably longer distance.

Race 5 No2 TEDLEY
Trainer: Nigel Twiston-Davies – Jockey: Sam Twiston-Davies

While this trainer’s summer jumpers have suffered the odd reverse, TEDLEY is the type that can help turn things around. He claimed a minor cheque in a better race at Hexham last time, and should go close in this move into calmer waters.

LINGFIELD PARK

Race 1 No4 MOUNT MOGAN (Each Way)
Trainer: Laura Mongan – Jockey: Daniel Muscutt

MOUNT MOGAN has improved from race to race for his locally-based trainer and is now in a position to strike. He recorded his last two successes at this venue and could prove hard to peg back should his rider elect to make it a test.

Race 4 No5 LOVEABLE ROGUE (Nap)
Trainer: James Owen – Jockey: Sean D Bowen

Sea The Stars filly LOVEABLE ROGUE made a jump forward when finishing second on her second career start at Wolverhampton. Her chance of success in this fillies’ maiden is boosted by the fact she’s far better drawn than main market rival Middlesex.

Bipot Perm (Races 1-6)

4, 6, 13 x 3, 5, 1 x 6, 4, 7 x 5 x 1, 4 x 7, 3, 4
