Neil Morrice brings us all of his best bets and tips for Wednesday’s racing coming your way from Lingfield and Kempton Park.
LINGFIELD PARK
Race 1 No:3 RUBY RED EMPRESS
Trainer: George Boughey – Jockey: Jack Mitchell
From a good draw, RUBY RED EMPRESS can consolidate on a promising first run for her trainer here earlier in the month. The Holy Roman Emperor filly couldn’t get out of a pocket until too late that day, and can turn round the placings with runner-up Voi.
Race 3 No:4 SIR EDWARD ELGAR (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Rab Havlin
This race looks to have fallen into the lap of SIR EDWARD ELGAR who is going to relish the step up to a mile after proving an expensive flop at Newcastle when turned over at 8-11. The No Nay Never colt returns fresh and fancied following a break.
Race 7 No:7 MAHALE
Trainer: Mick Channon – Jockey: Charles Bishop
MAHALE was ambitiously campaigned in her juvenile season, running in races like the Albany Stakes and then chasing home the speedy Caroline Dale at Windsor. Although failing to menace in two subsequent outings she has thrived for a break and will get few easier opportunities to open her account than this
KEMPTON PARK
Race 2 No:9 UNDER WRAPS (Nap)
Trainer: John Gosden – Jockey: Kieren O’Neill
The impeccably bred UNDER WRAPS has experience on her side against well touted newcomer Invincible Swagger and can step up on what she showed in two outings at Lingfield before Christmas. The daughter of Kingman and Group 1 winning mare Confidential Lady should prove hard to beat.
Race 9 No:8 MI LADDO
Trainer: Milton Harris – Jockey: John Egan
MI LADDO got his act together here on Monday and has strong claims to put in an action replay. The grey has to carry a 5lb penalty but looked good value for his margin of victory over Plansina. He should also handle the step up in trip.
